Are all Yorkies so very loving? The other day a friend was over to the house and of course Scooter behaved as if she were the only person in his life. She wanted to know if all Yorkies were as loving and demonstrative as Scooter. I didn't know because Scooter is my first Yorkie. |
Guinness is that way to everybody that walks in the door.. Except for one friend has a deformed foot and he hates that foot and tried to attack it but as long as my friend is sitting down he loves him. Stella is super shy but once she gets to know the person she is loving but not as much as Guinney. |
I have 3 yorkies and they love most everyone! they are so friendly, even with kids. I won't let kids pick them up, but they will kiss then with glee! Yorkies are people pups who love attention.......at least mine are! |
Mine it. She loves everybody and thinks every one comes over to see her lol |
Lexi loves everybody. She also thinks everyone is here to see her. She is not too picky about who she kisses or how she kisses them. In the mouth, in the ear, etc. Gotta love the little buggers! |
My two are always shy with strangers. They will warm up to people once they know them, but they are not all over people who visit our house. |
1 Attachment(s) Barney loves visitors. He jumps in their laps, licks their necks, gives them all kinds of attention. Anna, on the other hand, has a conniption fit when anyone comes over. We have to put her in the bedroom until our guests leave. No one believes that she is a sweet baby doll. They've only seen her alter-ego. Look at that face....how could she possibly be a stinker? |
Jackson unfortunately is not. He's not... mean at all. He just doesn't love everybody or feel a need to get very close lol. The most he does is sniff a new visitor and take a treat possibly. Otherwise he prefers no touch, no talk, no eye contact :p Now with people that he knows, once he loves you, he'll love you forever. Most of my family -- aunts, uncles, grandparents, parents, etc, he greets with much enthusiasm. Most yorkies I meet are honestly pretty friendly with strangers. |
I have 2 there are kind of shy until they get to know you and 2 that love everybody. I've always joked that Toby would make friends with a serial killer, lol. And Haley thinks everybody that walks in the door should be her personal toy thrower. ;-) |
I don't know if it's because Chewie is a puppy but he gets so excited when he sees ANYONE. He goes nuts! He loves to be loved up and loves to give little puppy kisses. His whole body and little butt wiggles when he gets excited, it's so friggin cute. I swear he's twerking lol. |
Everyone in our neighborhood just loves Gizmo and he just loves them all lol. We always joke that the neighbors only know Gizmos name, but not ours. He's like a local celebrity ad when we go to our little beach park at the end of our street it can take several hours getting out of there, due to all the goodbyes everyone has to give him HAHAHAHA . |
My boys are very affectionate with me and their grandpa. Max loves to be doted on by strangers, but he picks and chooses which ones he will be loving with. I can always tell who is really good with dogs by the way Max reacts. Teddy does not like strangers. I can't blame him. When he was a pup, people would run at us screaming and try to pick him up. I think he has always been afraid of being taken away from his family. |
If we're out somewhere, Joel will be more weary of people but if a stranger comes in the house he thinks they're his best friend lol |
I don't think they all come that way, my 1st Yorkie Spencer was very friendly...loved everyone. But Winston...is a snob, stuck up...he just ignores others. Like Brit said, no touch, no talk, no eye contact. He's not mean by any means, just not overly friendly. But he is so well behaved, trained and loves us dearly...maybe we created him to be this way. Because Spencer was not so well trained, behaved...just saying...I don't know. |
chester is a big lover boy, but he loves his mamma |
