I thought of you when I saw this post. I am so sorry for meika. I still think of you every time I see the bufo toads in our back yard. I do worry so. My dh is a great toad killer though. |
My heart stops every time I see this thread pop up. My DD and I killed a big one Monday in the front yard where the dogs do not go. I tried pouring Clorox bleach on it (read that online), it made him crazy and he hid between a rock wall and a tree. Expected him to be dead an hour later, but not..... he was bleached orange on his head and his poison glands had emptied, but he was very much alive. My DD killed him with a shovel & put him in the trash. I hate these things SO much. |

Yorkiefan.... please don't worry at all about bumping this thread. I am so glad that this is a place we can all come together and share information, support each other, and educate others about the danger of Bufo toads. I will always be sad about Meika's tragic loss, but spreading the word about the danger is very important, so that she did not die in vain. I just never want to see any other pup have to die this way. |

Yeah it's a good thing to get the info out there. I had no idea really about toads. I don't think we have any here in the desert though. |

Thanks for the map. We recently moved to Vegas, but I see we are in the clear still. |
