Self-Proclaimed Princess Do any of you have a self proclaimed princess or prince? My little girl just had her first birthday and I swear since the day I brought her home (about 9/10 weeks old); she has had the same little quirk about her. Her name is Piper, though I tend to call her Picky Piper... She will NOT lay down on the floor or just the couch, she NEEDS a blanket or pillow or preferably a lap. She also will NOT eat dry food anymore. I have been trying to get her to put on a little weight, even battling with it... I have been feeding her Iams puppy, which worked great for another yorkie I had with the same "petite" problem. (No I am not into obese, just healthy...) So about a month ago, I started mixing a smidge of iam's puppy canned food in with the dry. Worked like a charm for the boarding kennel dogs when I worked there, so why not here right? Well sorta... She at first gobbled it up and made it up to almost 3.75lbs... well she lost interest in the canned delicacy. So now I'm "shopping again" for a different food she will like. She also hates harnesses. I always liked the idea of not pullling on a dogs neck... She at first hated anything on her, be it collar, tags (especially her tag!) her doggy coat... doesn't matter. Even long hair when the morning dew would get it wet! She now has a small. thin nylon collar with a small tag. I suppose it was a compromise... *LOL* So again, any of yours a self-proclaimed royalty? I would love to hear about them! |
Piper sounds like a cute little princess. Pixie is my little diva. She won't walk if I am holding her leash. She will walk with it dragging behind her. Also, she won't eat food or a treat out of my hand. If I try to get her to take something from my hand, she nods to the floor like put it there. Then she will eat it. She also refuses to learn to sit. I have tried everything and she will not sit when asked. |
Tibbe is my little Prince Charming and so spoiled all he has to do is come stare at me for a second to let me know he has a request and it's my job to start guessing and asking what he wants. Should I tarry, I will sometimes get a growl until I notice him! I get my answer of what he wants by his going around in circles or happy-dancing when I hit on it. And believe me, he's got a long list of wants, wishes and needs that he manages to get through in a day with me dancing to his tune as much as possible as he's a joy to interact with and please! Some days I think he lays around and thinks up all the things he'd like to do or have just for the joy of seeing me serve him! haha. He's quite imperial at heart and doesn't mind having a full-time servant one little bit! Still and all, despite getting almost whatever he wants as soon as he thinks of it, he's a good boy, well-behaved and easy to live with. If I'm feeling bad or sleeping, he knows and he won't approach me to ask for all those things and I have to ask him if he's hungry or needs to go potty unless he's about to burst. He's a kind-hearted little Prince. |
Oh yes!! It's all about Hannah and she is not one to be ignored. I wouldn't change a thing...other than the barking...:animal36:eek: |
Ellie thinks it is all about her at all times! She prefers for me to carry her everywhere and she will not sleep at night until she has her special pillow and blanket. She is such a little snob if she doesn't get her way, and heaven forbid her sister gets something before she does, especially when I give out treats or when it is time to put on clothes. She pitches little fits and will go sit in the corner by herself. Its pitiful! And she will only take food from either me or my fiancee. She will not eat anything anyone else tries to give her and she won't eat her food unless its in her special bowl! She is a spoiled princess and she knows it. |
Glad mine isn't the only one! :) I love hearing how your pooches are so picky! |
