Is my yorkie a purebred? Okay so, when she was little she was tiny but black and tan like a normal yorkshire terrier at that age. She stayed black and tan until about eight months old then started having grey coming in at the top of her head and middle of her body. She is now going to be two in may. She has had one litter of 3 puppies. Her ears didn't stand up till she was about three or four months old. She is rather a large yorkie and weighs 14 pounds. Her puppies were all quite big but their father was a miniature Yorkshire Terrier? We got her as pedigree without papers and her parents were both KC registered we saw both of the man and dad. HELP! I will love her even if she isn't a purebred i just want to know if she is, then if she isn't we will stop as its irresponsible to cross breed dogs. Many thanks!:aimeeyork |

Hello and welcome to Yorkie Talk. Hopefully by now you have read through many of the threads and see that not only is it "irresponsible to cross breed dogs" it is ONLY responsible to breed to improve the breed. Your pups don't have papers (for all intensive purposes) your female is off the charts in standard size (many of us have/had off standard pups) and by your description doesn't sound like a purebred. With that said...there is so much more to this than just what you have mentioned and what I have mentioned. Please continue reading threads regarding breeding and what to do and what not to do....most important STOP breeding your pup and get her spayed ASAP! Maybe you could post a pic of her in the picture section so we can all see that beautiful face! |
