Dog food rating How can dog food advisor give a 5 star rating for Natures Logic then say this "Remember, no dog food can possibly be appropriate for every life stage, lifestyle or health condition. So, choose wisely. And when in doubt, consult a qualified veterinary professional for help". There is no puppy Natures Logic. I am looking for a tiny kibble is there anything tiny that is high quality anybody know of? Orijen and acana and Fromm she does not like. She does like the chicken Natures Logic, still looking. Thanks |
I think Fromm is the smallest kibble. If you find a kibble she likes, you can crush it into smaller pieces. I have read here that people with small dogs have done this. Some have done the labor intensive cracking of each one, others have used grinders. Or you can put it in a bag and crush it with a tool. |
I give my two "blue life protection small breed". Are those kibbles too big? |
Now small breed has very small pieces they almost look like cat food. |
The tiniest kibble I have ever come across is a kibble that is holistic....Health Extension Little Bites. It is not much larger than a BB. I add this to my seniors RC diet because of the fabulous joint supplements....I have not seen a lot of dogs that did not love this stuff...it is coated with Dr.Millers Pet Nutra Drops and they love it! Chewy carries it now.... |

Fromm has small kibble, so does Amicus (made by Horizon), and also Evangers is very small (I use the grain free sometimes in our rotation). |

I think the dog food advisor looks at foods mostly from an ingredient standpoint. Personally, I am interested in ingredients but I also want to know about the quality of the ingredients. It takes some additional steps and a lot of digging to get that information. The FDA is allowing human food processors to sell old rotting food that cannot be used on humans to be sold to pet food companies. Maybe that has something to do with all the recalls we see these days. At any rate looking into where your pet food company buys ingredients from and how they are processed is very important. If information is not easily forthcoming then perhaps consider another company. I have found that many pet food companies do not want to talk about their suppliers or the process. |
I emailed Artemis and they were good enough to send about 20 sample bags of their puppy (small breed) and adult (small breed) dog food. It is only sold via Internet so I wanted to make sure my two puppies liked it. They loved it! Before I finished up the samples, I ordered two bags. Tiny kibble for tiny pups :) |
