What I love about my yorkie
 

1. When I get done eating she comes and kisses me to get the flavor of my meal. Conversely, when she is done eating she comes and kisses me to share the flavor of her meal.

2. When we're out in the backyard I'll let her get a ways away and start yelling "Where's my yorkie? Where's my yorkie" while walking over to her, pretending I don't see her. She gets on her stomach like she's hunting, and then charges me as I turn around and run yelling "Oh no, she's gonna get me!"

3. When I lie down on the couch, put my baseball cap over my eyes, stretch and yawn, and say "I think it's time for night-night" and then start snoring she sticks her nose under my cap and gives me a huge barrage of kisses.

4. When she wants to eat she'll ask me to come spin her bowl on the floor. Then when that's done she'll go and try to knock kibbles out the bowl with her paw, and eat them off the ground until she realizes she's too hungry and just eats it out the bowl.

5. Her love for toys of all kinds. Cookie just goes nuts over her various chew toys and balls. They are all over the house so we always have something at arm's length to throw to her when she wants to fetch. Plus she loves to go get her pet monkey to sleep with (see this thread for a pic: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/my-...et-monkey.html)

6. Her never-ending energy. This girl runs like the lighting and loves jumping up on things. She loves being outdoors too, which is awesome when the weather is nice like the last couple of days (sunny, 70s). She loves chasing squirrels and birds, and digging in the yard too. Speaking of digging, one of her favorite chew toys were two dried up beats she dug up out of the ground that didn't survive our brutal summer. She would parade around with one of those in her mouth all the time, but of course they couldn't last that long with a teething yorkie chewing on them!

7. Her love for giving kisses. When I jump out the shower she needs to lick all the clean off my face. I have never had a dog who liked giving kisses as much as the Cook. I mean she will kiss me for minutes at a time, and she loves to give kisses to my friends and neighbors too.

8. How she likes to curl in my lap to take a nap sometimes when I'm hanging out on the couch. My girl is a ball of energy and a lap dog at the same time. I feel like I struck the lotto! If she's not in my lap she wants to sleep on my blanket.

9. How she is always interested in what I'm doing. If I'm reading a book in back while she's playing she'll come jump up and right onto my book and ask what I'm reading.

10. Her inquisitiveness. Cookie is just constantly exploring in the yard when we're outside. I don't think she ever tires of snooping around in back.

11. That she is potty trained. What an adventure that was. :yelrotflm

12. That she can always bring a huge smile to my face no matter if the day was triumphant or tragic.

Awwwwwwwww. What a great post...kinda brought tears to my eyes bc it describes her so beautifully. You should print this out and always save it...it's a keeper. :)

What a gem your Cookie is! Sounds like Cookie found a great human friend to call her own:) Just curious, how old is Cookie, and how much does she weigh? I hope that she continues to bring you joy for years to come.

If you get a 2nd yorkie (or another breed), would you name him/her Cream? :D

Cook is just about to turn 10 months next week, and she is likely somewhere in the 7.5-8.5 pound range I think. Back in November when I got her spayed she weighed in at 6.75 lbs, but she has hit a pretty good growth spurt since.

This girl cracks me up so much. So just a minute ago I took her out to the bathroom and one of the palm trees out back (not a toxic palm like a sago) had a bunch of icicles on it, so I slapped the hell out of one the fans of leaves to knock them all off. I guess Cook took it as me attacking the tree, so she immediately started aggressively biting the lowest fan palm hanging down like she was trying to kill the tree, haha.

What a lot of fun you have ahead of you with Cookie.:) My Bailey is 2yo and weighs 7.5-8lbs. For me, this is a perfect weight and I don't feel that I will step or kick him by accident. Every day is just like Christmas morning still, as he is just a joy to have around. Now, if he would only get along with the cat, that would make life much easier. They have to be on separate floors or they scrap. :eek:

I love this girl so much. She wanted to take a nap in my bedroom just now as I'm at the computer, but she barked for me to pull my blanket off the bed and then she set it up in her bed! I love that my blanket is the one she always wants.

Everything.

Her beautiful eyes, especially when the whites show

Those furry little legs, looking like a trouser suit as she trots about

The kissing bouts and gentle nose butts

Waking up to find this fleecy little being, burrowed down deep in the bed

The sheer joy of her greeting every morning, ears downs careening around like a little dervish, each day the same, but always saturated with happiness

The lone, frenzied, 5 minute play sessions, chasing her tail and scooting from one bed to another as her imagination runs riot

The warmth and smell of her little body just after she awakes

Those little grunts, growls and squeaks of conversation

Her dreams and those accompanying twitches of adventure as she stretches out by my side:lovewings

My Cookie Monster is just starting to reach adulthood now. She turned 10 months two days ago and is just now finishing her last bag of Royal Canin 29 (puppy). Just mixed the very last of it with her new food, Royal Canin 28 (yorkie adult). I think the puppy one smells better personally, but Cook loves the adult formula too.
