Nutri cal Just got an 8 week old little girl named Marlie today. Very excited and love her so much! Tried to give her some nutri cal and she doesn't want it. She has been eating normally even after her flights here. Very playful. I've been reading some posts on this site and saw that if they eat then nutri cal may not be necessary as much as people say? |
Nutrical is not a substitution for food. It is for if a pup goes hypoglycemic. But it's not a cureall. How long was the flight? The poor thing. So young and to have to take a scary flight. What is in the health guarantee from your breeder? I would imagine you must take her to your vet within 24 hours. But I hope the health guarantee is not only for a few days or weeks. |
Only give nutrical if she is having hypoglycemic episodes and after giving it you need to make sure she eats some regular food or her sugar will just drop back down. |
It was about 5 hr flight. The health guarantee is 10 years. Need to take her to vet within 48 hours since we got her. The only problem we are having is potty training haha. It's only day 1 so not expecting to have her fully trained yet. |
I would either put her in the bathroom or in an enclosed area like an x pen with her potty pad and bed. And put her on the potty pad and tell her go pee pee. If she goes. Make a big deal and say good pee pee and give her a little treat. Like a 1/2 Cheerio. She will t the hang of it. Also do not bring her outside or in public until 2 weeks after all her shots. You do not want her to risk getting sick |
Hello and Welcome to YT. "Yorkies For Dummies" is the first one I recommend."Yorkshire Terriers: A Smart Owners Guide" is the second book. These are excellent resource books .Another book "How to Housebreak Your Dog in 7 Days" Is very helpful. They are not as easy to housebreak. Here is the schedule that they are using. It seemed to work for Galen. Good luck http://www.leecharleskelley.com/imag...sebreaking.pdf |
Thank you guys for y'all's help. |
