I Will Never Ever Ever Babysit A Child Who Is Afraid of Dogs Again!!!! This week has been interesting to say the least:rolleyes:. My neighbor asked me a month ago to watch her son while she and her hubby attend a military function on today. I said no problem her son could keep my son entertained. The function started at 6 was supposed to end at 10 enough time for them to pick their son up so he can get some semblance of sleep before school tomorrow. It's now a little after 12 a.m. No phone call, text, etc. My 5 year old who will be going to school tomorrow is dead asleep and I'm confused as to what to do because I don't want to have to wake Ryan up if his parents show but I know he shouldn't be up this late. The little boy(Ryan) is scared of dogs which I later found out when his mom dropped him off. This made the whole evening interesting. My bulldog whined and barked from her crate til she went to sleep because she wanted him to pet her and Rasta saw him as an intruder and perched on my shoulder the whole time when he wasn't sitting next to me on the couch hopping up and down barking at Ryan. He shot foam darts at my bully, he told Rasta to shut up or he'd punch him in the face , he pushed my son which made Roxie(bully) act all types of batsh*t since she sees my son as her baby. My husband who gets up earlier than I do is waiting for.them to show up. I just put him in the guest room...I've learned my lesson |

Yikes sounds like not a fun night. |

I would text or call and be like "where are you? Your thing ended at 10, and it doesn't take 2 1/2 hours to get home" |

That totally bums me out! Even before I was a mother (my oldes is twelve) I have constantly found myself in this akward position- the only adult in a room full of kids wondering where the heck their parents went, cleaning up bloody knees and the like while someone is out for a 'smoke break' or something like that. By now it has been a good five years since I have spent much time in an extracurricular group setting (suddenly feel like a crochety hermit saying that) and honestly managing the upheaval that my guys young son brings back to my kiddos every weekend is enough! I feel for you, definitely different concepts of parenting and respect. I am so sorry that you are experiencing this level of disrespect. I would just lock the door and go to sleep if I were you. |

She picked her son up a little after 1:30 a.m. which was just weird |

wow, did she have anything to say about what happened, living next store sure makes it hard for you to tell her what you really think |

wow not even an explanation or I am sorry. sounds like someone I would have a hard time being friends with. When she was late did you ever text her, just wondering if you did if and it was ignored. |

I sent a text asking if they were okay since that was my main worry around 12:30 with no contact and I figured he was staying over since it was so late and he was already sleeping. I didn't get a response, but within the hour she came and picked up her son. |

Don't be taken advantaged of with your neighbor. The next time they ask to watch their brat tell them that since you have to keep your bully crated it isn't acceptable. Please don't back down or you will be forever babysitting. |

Some people are just rude. Next time they ask say you can't. And if she asks then tell her. Maybe then she will understand that you do not treat people that way. |

wow well at least you know not to offer to do that again. a simple text should've been sent. As stated some people have no appreciation or respect. sorry your family had to deal with that. |
