Orijen vs Acana Does anyone have any experience with this brand? I've been giving Bentley Orijen since he was two months old (he's 10 months old now) he does good on it but I notice he drinks and pees a lot, and his pee is too yellow. I was wondering if it's too much protein for him? It's 42% protein so I decided to change to grain-free Acana, which is 32% protein. He's currently loving Acana, he's eating the acana kibbles and leaving orijen kibbles on the side lol .... Am I doing the right thing? (I was thinking about waiting a month or two and see if he doesnt get as thirsty with Acana or if his pee stops being so yellow) |
I prefer Acana personally. Really no need for most pet dogs to have that much protein. It's not necessarily harmful, but as far as kibble goes? It's just a bit unnecessary. I just think Acana is going to be the better choice for most pet dogs. Pay attention to the calcium and phos levels too, some of their foods are fairly high. I have always had the best luck w/ Acana for Jackson. I feed Duck & Pear, with the best results, but also get him Acana Wild Prairie sometimes too. Both have ash levels of 7.5%. |
I also use Acana and love it. |
