ugh! Lilah just found a chocolate covered cherry and ate the top part I left a message for the vet….is there anything else I should do? It wasn't very much but she is a little thing (3.5 lbs) and I'm pretty sure it's milk chocolate NOT dark |
vet called back….said not to worry, she'll be fine. I figured so since it was such a small amount of milk chocolate (like 1/4oz). What a stinker! She's sitting here looking guilty and every time I look at her she turns her head in shame lol |
I'm so happy your baby is safe. It's always a scary thing when they eat a little something they are not suppose to have. |
thanks :) We were in my room, she ran out ahead of me and was out of my sight for like 30 seconds….I got into the hallway and she was already munching on the candy. Somehow in that 30 seconds she ran into my son's room, found the candy and took it into the hallway! It's like she had a plan lol |
Glad she's doing ok. |
Happy to hear Lilah is okay! My boys have found chocolate on our walks and it scared the daylights out me. Thankfully they spit it out on command. Definitely work with her on "drop it". |
Years ago Bella Mia ate a handful of Hershey kisses she stole from a table we thought was out of her reach. She ate all of them while we were at work. When I came home she was panting profusely, she was vomiting, and had poop that smelled like chocolate....rushed her to the vet who basically said it was too late to do anything.... Luckily she made it but now she acts like a crack addict if she smells chocolate. She try's hard to get chocolate. Lessons learned....Yorkies can jump HIGHER than we think, and chocolate needs to be locked up out of Bella's reach. |
Lexi ate most of a mini dark chocolate Hershey bar on thanksgiving. Rushed her to the vet, got a shot to make her throw up, a gigantic tube of charcoal down her throat and black poo for a few days. She acted pretty normal through the whole thing. Very scary though. We are pretty careful to make sure these human treats are far away from her. |
