What are your New Year's Eve traditions and quirks Happy New Year YT Family, Just wondering if anyone has New Year's Eve traditions. I can't welcome the new year with dirty laundry, so I spend the day washing clothes. My hubby's tradition is that we eat 12 grapes for good luck right after midnight. My daughter's new tradition is to burn a sage stick and passed the smoke in all the corners of the house and the people to rid us of any bad juju! I made her pass smoke over hubby 3 times :p! So, do you have any New Year's rituals? |
How interesting lol. We always have to eat black eye peas and hawg jowl. If we don't my mother flips a lid! Lol. Can't wait to see what others do. |
Clean house, what I spent yesterday doing. Very good meals NYeve and NYday. Last night we had Crab stuffed lobster tails, with a tart salad, and rice. Also pay all my bills by Nyeve. Today is Rib roast with all the fixings - Yorkshire Pudding, Roast potatoes and veges. Nyday is spent relaxing other than dinner prep;) |

BTW happy New Year |
Hog jawl or jowl is the cheek meat from hogs. Southern tradition calls for using smoked jawls to season your New Year's Day black eyed peas. We will be having black eyed peas seasoned with our smoked hog hawl, collard greens a maple pecan smoked ham and cornbread. |
