Hard water problems Our new-ish home has hard water. (New to us) ;) I've seen lots of flaking on kaji's skin, and mine as well. Can the hard water be the cause? My sensitive skin is worse than ever. :'( |
Not sure if that could be causing the skin flaking, I give Gina Smart Water, it's what I drink, and she doesn't have any problems. I have a water softener, but still give her some of my water. Check with your vet and ask, it could be an allergic reaction to something. Cheers Quad & Gina:aimeeyork |
He doesn't drink it. I was just wondering if the water was leaving residue or causing the itchies on us both because of the residue I keep seeing on my dishwasher, my shower curtains, etc. I've never experienced anything like this before and I'm not sure I can install things to this house without the owner's consent. I asked her about the hard water but she assured me it's not a big deal. |
Hard water is a pain, thecstaining is usually from higher iron levels. You might consider renting a softener, or asking the owner if you can. Companies like Kinetico or Culligan will install it and maintain it. All you do is pay for rental (not very expensive) and salt. When you leave, the company removes it and returns the plumbing basicall yback to where it was. Maybe the owner would let you? And yes, it can give you the flkies and itchies. Forgot to say, you can also buy inline shower head filters from culligan |

Yuck we have well water and I HATE it. I cannot stand washing my hair there anymore, it's ruined it after years of buildup. Thank god my mom owns a salon so I go there to wash it a few times a week and get a well water treatment every so often. It does kind of make my skin a bit... not as smooth feeling as public water. We have an old house though. I will say at my dads house, it's well water as well but it's a newer house and the water treatment is obviously better. I tend to give Jackson baths over there instead of my moms house when I can lol. He drinks the water though with no reactions. I only drink bottled water at my moms house. The well water tastes yucky. |

Ugh I HATED well water, it was so bad we couldn't even cook with it. My mom and I had problems with our hair breaking from it. We had a thing we put salt in but the water was still horrible. |
