Sleeping with your fur baby... |
The article states if you have problems sleeping to not have your pet in bed with you. If the pets keep you awake that might be good advice. Having PTSD, awful insomnia,at times it can feel lonely to be the only one awake for many hours or all night. Caleb is great company and is very comforting. He's helped me sleep better. If anything I'm the one disturbing him. He cuddles up, when I'm struggling. He's also the first dog I've shared a bed with, we'll see what Pippi does, once she's older. Can't imagine sharing a bed with a dog who sheds a lot, that would drive me nutz- probably wouldn't do that. How many of you do that? |
I have asthma and would never not let Callie be in my room. She has a crate set up with a nice bed, a few blankets, a dog safe heating pad and a blanket over the crate ( I keep my room cold). I never lock the crate she just goes in at night on her own when its bed time. It works well for us both to have our own beds and we both sleep well that way but I like her being only a foot from my bed so I can hear her when she coughs or anything. The only reason I don't like her sleeping in my bed is because I kick and move a lot in my sleep and don't want to hurt her or push her off the bed plus the bed is to high for her to jump on and she wont use the pet steps. Being happy is the healthiest thing for a person so if having your dog in your bed makes you happy then I think that is the healthiest decision for you. If you over analyzed everything then we would find someone who would say everything is bad for us. |
