yorkie ears Hi guys, looking for some advice! Our family have a beautiful 6month old Yorkie who we call Boo. I have noticed over the last couple of days that her ears aren't standing up!! They used to!! What's wrong??? Pls help. Thanks:animal36 |
Is her hair on her ears trimmed or long? Also, I think they can drop when teething. Is she still losing baby teeth and getting her adult teeth? |
Hi Terri Her hair on her ears is a bit long, last visit to parlour was 30 November. She is also teething at the moment. |
Some others might have more thoughts on this. I am surely no expert. But I think the teething may be the reason. If the hair is heavy, it could weigh the ears down, but it doesn't sound like her ears have super long hair ir anything. Hoping some more experienced members will chime in... |

Could be teething and weight of the hair. If her ears don't stand back up, don't fret too much. There are so many adorable Yorkies with floppy ears. |
Welcome to Yorkie Talk. The others have said what I was thinking, that teething, and weight of hair is causing this, or is it possible that she is coming into her first heat? I just want to add, don't worry too much about it. I'll bet if they were standing before, they will again. However, there are some of us who did not end up with perfect "UP" ears.... and they are also adorable. My Tiki actually has one up and one down, and I wouldn't change a thing, haha. |
Thanks for all your advice guys! Just so happy that there isn't anything wrong with my baby!! We love her to bits! Glad to have found a place to chat with people who offer advice and are so knowledgeable!! |
