yipyap | 12-27-2013 09:48 AM | "Blue Genes' Taffy Confection"--I love taffy candy, Ha! Well, our Taffy is 3 years old and weighs in between 5 1/4 and 5 1/2 pounds depending on whether he has just eaten. (His brother was the tiny pup, but very hyper.) Taffy was twice brother's size & much calmer. He has done pretty well in basic obedience classes, and he loves people. Taff has slender bone structure. He was black & gold at 13 weeks, but now is silver/grey and blonde like his great-great gramma who was Janie's (his breeder's) one state champion. He doesn't have thick hair; it is very fine; what the groomer called silky. It gets little "spider web" tangles hidden in his undercoat...Ooops, he just ran to his crate - I picked up his brush! He looks too thin in a short"puppy cut", so we keep him at a 3" under-belly length and a beard down to his chest. I am so glad a lady on "Yorky Talk" suggested using a fine spray mist when brushing his coat, especially the ends! A great help! Round-tipped scissors slid down through his coat to 'snip tangles' keep him happy...no 'ouchies'! (He is a pure pet, not a show dog.)
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to All! LOL, Sue and Taffy |
