why is my 9yr old yorkie weeing in my kitchen approx 6mth ago my 9 yr old yorkie started to wee in the corner of my kitchen and i dont know why as he has not done this before and is fully house trained, i have asked the vet about this and she did some tests to see if it was a health issue. The tests came back clear so she advised me to cut his water intake down which i did but he still wees in my kitchen, he goes out regular for walks and out in my garden but even when the door is open for him to go out he will still go and wee in the same spot ive even tried odour sprays to get rid of his scent. IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME SOLVE THIS PROBLEM I WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL AS I AM ALL OUT OF IDEAS |
What tests did your vet do? It not common for a dog that has free access to the outside to decide to pee inside after being totally trained for that long. I would ask for further testing on his kidneys and bladder. The only other thing I can suggest is to check for something new in your kitchen that could be attracting him to pee there like a small area rug. Many of those small rugs for kitchen and bathrooms have a rubber like backing that have a scent that will attract both dogs and cats to potty on them. I kind of doubt that is the case here but it is something to consider since he seems to be attracted to just one area according to your post. |
Was he tested for a UTI and/or stones? Can you block access to the area he keeps going to? |
