How is Nutro? Hello Yorkie lovers, I am very concerned with my puppy's health. I am currently giving him Eukaneba puppy food and I want to change it to nutro because my local pet supply shop sells it. I can not find canidae or anything else. Do you think Nutro would be ok for a almost 3 month old puppy? I am only giving him dry food. No can food at all. Is this ok as well? THANK YOU! |
Hi, Yes I think it is better if you switch your dog to nutro, because eukanuba has corn in it. Corn is not easy to digest and also it seems to make yorkies (ad/hd) really hyper. I had Zayne on science diet and my vet told me to find something without corn in it, and just make sure you read all the ingredients. I got Zayne Nutro chicke and rice recipe, he seems to like it, and he actually has settled down a little bit. About feeding him just hard food......... Zayne is 10 weeks old and I still feed him chicken soup soft food and now nutro. I think it is best to keep them on soft also unitl they are 12 weeks, becuase they need to each a lot to keep them from getting sick. Your puppy is old enough now to just give him hard food. |
Nutro is none of the better foods. Hard is better for their teeth than the moist. My dogs have some moist too but they are picky eaters. If they ate their dry good I would only give them that. |
I have never used Nutro, but I am in the process of switching Gidget to it! She seems to love it too! And when we get our little Chloe this weekend, she is going to Nutro too! I can't find any of the other good brands around here that ppl always talk about! |
I used the Nutro Max puppy for Brutus and we just switched to Nutro mini chunks since he turned a yr. old. He loves it! |
I too switched from Eukanuba to Nutro lamb and rice when he was 10 months old.. I recently tried the Nutro Ultra,,thinking it would be even better,, BUT OH did he get the runs,, I even mixed in just a little with his old food. I dont know if I will try to mix it again..or just stick with the Nutro Lamb and rice formula?? Of course now, I have a full bag of the Ultra. |
I use the Royal Canin Yorkshire mini bites! It doesn't have corn in it. Snoodles loves it! It also has clongosidmine and Glocosimine in it for their bones. She really likes it. It is expensive---$11.oo for a 3# bag, but it lasts for three months. I get it at Pet Smart---85 miles from me. But, when I go, I buy two to three bags! Pat |
We use the Nutro Lamb and Rice Small Bites and the girl love it!! It has really helped their coat and Magic's sensitive stomach is undercontrol!! I would defintely recommend switching to Nutro!! |
Daisy has been on Eukanuba puppy food as well and i'm looking to switch to Nutro. I called Nutro and spoke to a rep but my question is what type of food are you feeding your lil ones? Meaning small bites? Supposedly Nutro has only one adult food that is small bites (Natural Choice Lamb Meal & Rice). Is it ok to mix in some of this adult food into her puppy food so once the bag of Eukanuba is done i can just switch totally? I just bought a 6.5lb bag of Eukunba within the last month. Thanks. |
Absolutely! That is the correct way to introduce new foods! That way, they don't get diareha from a quick change! |
