red eyes? Our yorkie has red on the whites of his eyes. Nothing else seems abnormal, but is this something we should worry about? |
I've used a human product called "Clear Eyes", but, any Eye drops for us, is ok to be used on their eyes too. It may be that they're just dry, or he was digging or some other way they got "debris" in them which caused that. If it persists after the eye drops, I'd have the Vet take a look. |
He may have hurt or scratched his eye...even for people, if we hurt our eye, the blood goes to that spot to heal it, that's why it becomes red. I would watch for any signs of discomfort, like if he's pawing @ it, or blinking/ winking & any discharge. If you see him experience any of the above, please take him to the vet. |

I use only Natural Tears or sterile saline solution in my dogs' eyes. Many dogs are sensitive/allergic to the preservatives in human eye products so beware. Ulcers in the eye begin with redness and irritation, so I wouldn't wait too long to have a vet check the eyes and get the right meds/treatment, before more damage occurs. |

I wouldn't use anything in your pup's eyes without seeing the vet first. Some drops can make some eye problems worse. You also posted about a possible ear infection. Your pup needs to see a vet ASAP. Keep us posted. |
