Question Ok...I was wondering what kind of things are great to have when you bring your yorkie baby home? I want to be prepared as possible and have what i need so i can stay home and enjoy and not have to run to the store. I know the basic but what are some things that i may not think of. Thanks! |

Most important, IMO, Nutri-cal. |

puppy food bed crate or playpen (which ever you prefer) nutri cal toys harness/leash food and water bowls blankets a sweater or t-shirt puppy shampoo/cond. A GOOD VET these are just basics...there's lots more you'll pick up in time i'm sure! |

Lots of toys, treats, potty pads if you are training inside, blankets, food, bed, brush, shampoo, harness, and again lots of toys. Have fun with your new little one they are really a joy in our lives. |

Lorraine Plan for an area where the pup is safe either an xpen or part of a kitchen that you can partition and put the pup there when you are out or moving around doing normal every day stuff. It is very easy for a new Yorkie pup to get underfoot and hurt. You need food, bed, food dishes, toys, and some chews such as the nylabone. I do not recommend greenies or most of the chew toys available in pet stores. DO not use wicker beds as they can splinter with a chewing teething puppy and cause real damage. The breeder you are buying from should be a dirth of info and also should either give you some food or tell you what brand they are feeding. Talk to some Vet clinics in your area to find one that is experienced with toy breeds of dogs. You will need someone to do your intial health check on the pup anyway and not a bad idea to have someone in mind should you run into trouble. You need to keep a new pup away from power cords and just about anything else around the home they can chew or get into. They are babies and don't know the dangers, you have to think for them. Hope this helps. Lorraine |

Looks like you have had bunches of good suggestions of MUST HAVES. I would add a soft blanket to snuggle up in. |
