bad breath Niko has the worst breath. At times it almost can make you gag. I had him checked for any infection and had his teeth done(again!) He is only 1 year old. His teeth and gums are in great shape, no tarter or decay at all. I brush his teeth every day and have tried greenies but he won't touch them. All I can figure out is something in his diet is causing the odor. He's on royal canin yorkie 28 and loves it. He gets an occasional doggie treat and frozen blueberries, fresh beans and apples. My other dogs get the same with no problems. All suggestions welcome. |
It may be the dogfood (every dog can react different to different foods... we know that from experience!).... have you considered trying something else? Be careful to make the switch slowly... I can recommend Fromm or Blue Buffalo (we use Fromm grain free food). |
I would recommend getting blood work done to check is kidney functions. The onl reason I say this is because I had a yorkie that had horrible breath and it just got worse. Took her to the vet about another issue and we got to talking about her breath. The vet recommended we get her checked, which I did and its a good thing. Found out she was in Renal Failure. I am not trying to scare you and it could just be nothing but I wouldn't take any chances. 1 of the signs of renal failure is the bad breath. |
