Smoke alarm... My daughter just set off the smoke alarm cooking bacon and scared the heck out of Charlie. He was trembling. It took ten minutes and a piece of bacon to calm him down. :( I guess they must be super loud to a dog. |
yeah I'm sure it is magnified severely. glad you had a little bacon to give charlie some comfort!! poor little fella. |
1 Attachment(s) That is his sissy. This is him right now. lol Sorry the pic came out so blurry. |
i c he now has green eyes he's so afraid!! ;) cute he knows how to get snuggles. |
Was it the first time he heard the fire alarm? Freaked out Magnus/Zoey the first couple times they heard it. Now.. they don't even react to it. LOL (Mom forgets to turn on the vent/fan at the stove when she should sometimes.) |
You know ours have strange reactions to them. If the battery gets low they will beep every so often. Just one tiny beep. It puts them both into a shaking panic. |
Mine freak out as well when the smoke alarm goes off. I can see his green eye shine while is he getting all cuddled with his sissy. |
I thought something was seriously wrong at first. It took me a minute to realize it must be the smoke alarm. He was trembling like I never seen before with his tail between his legs. |
This is one of Jackson's biggest fears... ANY kind of smoke now makes him walk the other way (when we were camping, he wouldn't come outside because of the fire ) poor guy... ever since the smoke alarm went off 2 years ago, he hasn't forgot... |
I think it hurts their ears. |
It hurts my ears, and I have to wear hearing aids in both ears, I can only imagine what it sounds like to them. Cheers Quad & Gina:aimeeyork |
Aww, poor guy. My two hate the house alarm and the smoke alarm. I don't blame them, they are loud! |
All of ours become terrified if a smoke alarm goes off or the thing begins to beep due to low battery. Last weekend we were in our travel trailer in a RV park. The trailer next to us had a low battery beep that I could not hear. Mina was so scared that she would not eat and kept trying to crawl into my lap or between my feet. My husband told me that he had heard the neighbors beeping. I got Mina to eat a tiny bit and then had to wait until we were on the road in the truck to feed her the rest of her breakfast. Kenzie doesn't care because she has no idea what it is. |
My daughter did it again!! Poor Charlie. I'm surprised he didn't have a heart attack the second time! We will have to remember to unplug the darn thing when cooking stuff that might set it off. |
