Need help! My yorkie is only 9 weeks old. the first few days I got her she peed on her pee pads, but now she pees whereever she feels like. I dont know If I should take her outside yet as she has only had her first round of shots. I also had her crate just outside my room and she would cry and bark so I put her crate in my room at night but she still wines. the only way she stops is if i go and pet her should I keep her in the crate at night or let her sleep in bed with me? any help would be much appreciated!! |
Hi and Welcome to YT! Try putting the crate on your bed or on a chair next to the bed where she can see you (if you want to crate train her). Puppies are lonely and can be chilly when they are first removed from the litter and their Mom. Also, that young, keep her confined to one room, like the kitchen, set up with food, water bed and PeePad. They're too young to have free run of the house. |
You should also invest in a good enzyme cleaner for where ever she pees to remove all traces. This will discourage her from going back to those spots. |
If you live in a home, the back yard or even your front yard should be ok for quick potty breaks. Just make sure to keep a close eye on her. As for a cleaner... I'm trying out a product called Genesis 950. It's supposed to be really good but can't say for sure since I haven't received it yet to try. Since your pup already made marks, like Nanahas3 suggested, you should invest in a good spot cleaner. |
I meant water and a bed, not a water bed, lol! |

Maybe try an xpen instead of a crate? My Gizmo almost died at the hands of a byb, and was scared to death of crates. I got the richell medium expandable pen, that has plenty of room for sleeping, eating and potty areas. It worked fantastic in pad training him. |
