Cried like a baby when he got hurt Has anyone experienced their yorkie cry like a baby? My George fell off of a friends lap while being brushed and he cried and cried like a baby....never heard anything like it before. He was fine once I distracted him with a chew stick....little leary of my friend for a bit though. |
He may have been crying because he really was hurt? How far did her fall and what did he land on...his head, his neck, his side??? You may have distracted him, but I would be concerned about the reality of a real injury....watch your baby closely...these babies can injure themselves from such a fall....they dont like to show injury or disability, as this is weakness and in nature, that gets you killed.....survival of the fitness. I would not write it off too quickly...watch pup closely.... |

I had it happen with Minnie one time. She was outside running in the yard and just fell to the ground screaming for a minute. Then she did it a couple more times while walking and I was worried sick. Took her into my vet in the morning and she had some kind of mineral deposit or something in her back. He gave her a shot and some steroids I think, and she was good to go after and it never happened again. It amazes me how good my vet (Joe Jaksik DVM in Adkins, Texas) is at diagnosing and fixing problems with my girls. I was beside myself that day having no idea what was wrong with my girl. |
dog Yorkies tend to be fragile dogs. I hate to read where one has fallen off or been dropped and hurt. We must be careful. My dog Spud uses doggy steps to get off the couch. If he jumps off, he could hurt his legs. Hold them close and do not allow them to jump or fall and get hurt. |
Winston just did something similar yesterday. He was with my mom's dog who wasn't too amused by winston. He kept bugging her and then I heard her growl, and winston screeched and ran away crying, Even after I picked him up, it took him a good minute to stop crying. I thought for sure she must have bit him, but I checked him over and over and no bite mark anywhere or any sign of injury. Either she bit him lightly and didnt break skin or she just snapped at him. But my God, the way he cried I thought he was seriously injured. I guess it just really scared him. |
The vet was here about an hour and half later.... to give him his shots and a general check up. He is fine and playing as hard as ever!! We are very careful with him....it was a freak accident. |
You can't be too careful though, espically with these babies. A few years ago I had a toy schnauzer that was bounced off the bed by my other female schnauzer. They were just playing, but she cried and cried what seemed like forever. THen, she played and seemed okay, but I took her to the vet anyway. Turned out she broke her back leg in 2 places. Glad the vet took a look at your baby. We just don't know by guessing because they are pretty good at covering up pain. |
