Dog in wedding? So I am getting married in March (yay!) and I am really wanting to have Ellie in the wedding. I would love have to have lilly Anne in it to but that just would not go over well with her lol. My question is though has anyone ever had their dog in their wedding? And if so what are some things I need to remember? The wedding is outside at the gardens so messes aren't a worry. Thanks! |
Congratulations ! You have my best wishes on a life long healthy and fulfilling relationship. I've seen some dogs at weddings, some right and some wrong. I'd ask a trusted friend if they might hold Ellie (in harness and short leash) on the side, where she could watch. It's not good to have our animals walking around loose at times like that. Be sure to tell you spouse ... Love me, love my Dog ! |

I have heard of people doing it!! I love the idea! :) So cute!! I agree that I would find someone who you trust that you know can take her for you, and be sure you don't have to worry since it IS your wedding day. And she will probably have to leave and go home before you do (during reception, etc)? So have someone willing to do that. If I get married in Jackson's lifetime, he will definitely be a part of it somehow!! |
Congrats on your upcoming nuptials!!!!! We had my husband's childhood lab(he's passed now) in our wedding as the ring bearer. I would just say practice with her so she won't get distracted by cameras, music, etc. And if you have an outfit for her get her used to it. Rebel(my husband's dog) carried a little pillow on his back for close to a month to get used to carrying the rings. I hope you post pics I would l to see how it turns out :) |
dog That would be so special to have your Yorkie in your wedding. I didn't have a Yorkie when I got married, but got mine after. I definitely would have included them in my wedding, right down the aisle dressed up with the pillow for the rings. So cute and special! Only dog lovers understand! |
congrats...that's awesome...what if you put them in a wedding stroller...then you can put one person in charge of being sure they are safe and escorted around. just a thought...and they can be in the photos....so darling. |

Oh em geeee thats so exciting, congrats!!! :D Well let's see, in the.next year or two I will be getting married as well, at a lovely rose nursery, so our venues sound similar. I wanted my girls to be part of our special day, but Luma is super hyperactive around humans and Rosie is very very timid. So I couldn't have them walk on a leash down the aisle...Luma would be mushing like an Alaskan sled dog  and Rosie would be frozen in place :rolleyes: I am considering holding Luma in my arms as I walk down the aisle, then passing her off to someone who would put her in a quiet room away from the commotion but still on site so I can check on her. The venue is about 40 minutes out of town. I think it would be very special and emotional to have her with me as I walk down the aisle. She means so much to me! :) so its important to have her there. It could be a horrible idea though...my dress has a lace neckline and if she got wiggly she could tear it. Lol. Putting her on a leash is out of the question for us though...she would make such a scene trying to race to her daddy at the altar HAHA!! Oh and the stroller idea is a wonderful one!! She could be right there with all the action without running loose or being stepped on. |

One member Tara "bellasmomok" posted pics of her pups in the wedding 2 years ago and here is the link: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/my-...wer-girls.html Unfortunately she hasn't been on YT in the last year, but I helped her plan her honeymoon in Maui, and she and hubby came to my house to meet my furgirls. |
