would like to purchase teacup (doll face) yorkie.

No such thing. Just bad breeders breeding tiny dogs and trying to get more money out of them.

Please become educated about Yorkies BEFORE you head out and purchase one. Two excellent books are Yorkies For Dummies and Yorkshire Terriers: A Smart Owners Guide....these two books will educate you about the breed, help you determine if this is even a breed that is suited to you/your lifestyle, and how to choose a responsible breeder....you always BUY YOUR BREEDER FIRST.....then, that breeder will have your puppy. You do not want to be taken in by scam artists that sell "tea cup yorkies" .....the only way you can do that is to be educated what to look for in reputable, ETHICAL breeders and healthy babies. If you have never owned a "tea cup yorkie", which is nothing but an exceptionally small runt of a litter, you are absolutely clueless about what it takes to even keep these babies healthy, let alone alive. One excellent point to look for is that a breeder that will sell a tiny yorkie puppy to someone that has never owned a yorkie, let alone a tiny yorkie, is just in it for the $$$$$.....give such a breeder a very wide birth! RUN!!! Get educated first before you start this journey or you WILL be "skewed".....

Teacup is a term made up by bad breeders to jack up the price of there pups. Any breeder who uses the word teacup is a bad breeder.

Very good advice from Yorkiemom1 who is a reputable breeder. Please save yourself a lot of heartache and money and follow her advice. Tiny ones are a lot of work just keeping them well and not letting them accidently be hurt. The shortest little jumps can injure them. Welcome to YT and best of luck with your search for a good breeder.

When you say teacup do you mean a pup that will be 2-3 lbs fully grown? I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "doll faced" can you post an example? Most breeders won't/can't guarantee weight as an adult, but you can get a good idea by looking at your perspective pup's parents and grandparents ...but keep in mind even sire/dams within the standard of weight that "throw" smaller sized pups can have a "throwback" larger yorkie. Or that small pup that you were guaranteed would only be 2.5#'s could have a growth spurt and be 8 lbs.

Welcome to YT!! I am glad you've made it here so you can learn about the breed and save yourself a lot of heartache and money and from making bad decisions.


If you buy from a breeder who is intentionally trying to breed small dogs, you are probably going to buy a host of problems with them AND you will pay a lot for those problems. If you happen upon a quality breeder who has a smaller puppy they are selling, that's a totally different story.

Teacups don't exist. A 3 lb yorkie is just a yorkie. A yorkie is a yorkie is a yorkie!!


By baby doll face, are you looking with a dog with a more compact muzzle and those sweet big eyes??
