Welcome to Yorkie Talk and congratulations on your new puppy, Yoshi! When she has accidents, heart shape or not :D, forget about whooping and time outs. Positive reinforcement methods work so much better for potty training. I promise! Which potty training method do you plan on using -- piddle pads or 100% outdoors? My adult boys are trained for both. I blogged about potty training here: Potty Training Small Dogs - Dog Life and Style The basics are: 1. limiting freedom while training 2. supervising and learning the signs your pup needs to go 3. giving your pup ample opportunity to potty in the right place 4. Praise when the pup gets it right, and ignore when they get it wrong, or give them a calm but firm "no" or "uh oh" and show the pup the right place. |
welcome to yt! |
the person i purchased her from actually started her on pee pads, she has only had maybe 3 accidents but she does very well on going on them. *her aim is sometimes a little off, but i give her credit for trying* i take her out in the morning and at night for fresh air, and she sometimes pees but hardly ever poops |
Welcome! Can't wait to see pics :) |
Thanks! i posted one a little earlier in the pics section! |
