What a big boy Wallee has officially joined the teapot club. After trying on his winter coat from last year which was too tight in the neck and chest I decided to step him on my scale. WOW! He's now tipping the scale at 14.8. He will be 2 in 4 months so hopefully this is it for his growth. I had him weighed at the vet in May (just after his 1st birthday) and he was 12lbs. Funny thing is that feeding him has always been a challenge. He only eats his kibble from a treat ball and I have recently started giving him 2 oz of raw diet at supper. I am really going to clamp down on the stealing cat food. We don't free feed our cats but rather just put their food down when they ask at the cupboard. We then usually stand at the bowls until they are finished as sir Walter will steal from them. Sometimes we will put their food down if we go outside with Wallee but the dang bugger will run in and snatch a kibble before we get up the stairs...lol He still doesn't look too heavy at all but...after seeing that weight, I will be keeping an eye on what goes into his tummy. ;) Can you believe his mommy is only 8 lbs and his daddy is 6?? |
Wallee is so beautiful! In the pictures he doesn't look that big! I have a niece with a yorkie who is that size and he isn't over weight. Charlie is the sweetest ball of fluff, too! |

1 Attachment(s) Lol I know what you mean! Jackson kept growing and growing... From about 6 months to a year, he was always a steady 12lbs. Then all the sudden, I remember we had a vet visit around 1 1/2 years old maybe, and the scale read nearly 16lbs. I thought there was NO way. Tried another scale, same thing. So odd... because his harnesses all still fit, and such, and he was always in good shape so I know he wasn't over-weight. I think a lot of his was muscle and still just filling out. By 2 1/2, the scale was reading 17.5lbs. And that's about where he stays. So heres my almost 18lb Mr Muscle man Yorkie at nearly 5yrs old!!! |
Great looking pup. I'm just sad that his Wallee vest probably doesn't fit him anymore. |
