Oh no, Gizmo learned to jump on the couch today, while I am healing from my fall :-) So while I can't yet walk because my injured knees, and both my hands are wrapped like boxing gloves and a splint, due to one fractured hand, and one with a bunch of stitches from glass shattering and going through it, Gizmo picked today to learn to jump on the couch with me hahaha. I guess he really missed his mommy :-) it gave him the incentive to jump until he finally made it up. Well once he found he could jump up, it was all over after that. He tried to play I am a Rottweiler all day after that lol. Hubby starts 12 hour shifts tomorrow/Sunday :-( I think I'm going to be in for quite a day tomorrow :-) wish me luck !!!!! He happens to think the big bandages on my hands are some kind of new toy, and keeps trying to grab them with his teeth to get them and play :-( ruh roh ........ |
oh you poor thing. You sound like you need someone to come over and help. Who's going to feed you? I missed what happened to you, knees and hands, that is disabling. Gizmo wants to comfort you and keep you amused, it is funny, once they learn to jump up, Caleb was the same with our bed. He wouldn't let me pick him up to go on the bed, once he'd leant to jump up. He had to show off, what could he do. Hope you get some help and that Gizmo doesn't get too hyper for you. |
Parker is 6 1/2 months and little over 3 lbs and short legs. He has not yet mastered jumping on the couch. I hope he does not. It is Bella's safe zone when she is fed up with this here puppy. I know probably wishful thinking but for now I cherish the arrangement. Do not have to be concern over him jumping up and off the couch. Hope you are feeling better.:) |
I have stairs for Sophie. Works great when she uses them lol. |
Is there anyway you could cover yourself with pillows to help protect your knees? I need knee surgery and am wondering what I will do with Amy trying to be with me. Wish I lived close to you so I could help. |
Lola learned to jump on the couch at less than 3 pounds within 48 hours of bringing her home. I put a cushion on the floor for her to jump on after that. Sorry about your injuries, I hope it goes smoothly while your alone with the pup. |
Gizmo is probably just under 4 lbs, since hie last vet visit a few weeks ago he was 3 lbs 8 Ozs. He had been working on it every day and finally made it lol. He had previously jumped up twice, but I think he forgot since he did it by accident when he had the zoomies haha. Now he knows though :-( he keeps coming up, diving and jumping all over getting me lol, and he's fast !!!! |
Gina will jump up every now and then, but she prefers to climb up by pushing her back up against 1 part of the couch, and pulling with her front paws on the chaise part. Worse she will jump down if I don't get her first and place her down, steps are definitely on list of things to get for her. Hope you get better quickly, I know how much fun it is to be laid up and not able to do much at all. Cheers Quad:aimeeyork P.S. Thanks for the name of the preemie onesie brand |

They are preemie onsies made by spasilk, and they are for preemies that weigh between 3 to 5 pounds :-) they are silky soft and fit awesome, well I know they do on preemie babies :-) I have a grand daughter that was born at 25 wks and weighed less than 2 lbs., I then started a printing company that I did custom preemie wear inspired by my grand baby :-) unfortunately I had to close it after my spinal cord injury, but when. Had my business, I had tried every brand out there in preemie sizes, and the spasilk was the best by far in quality and fit :-) I never really thought of them for yorkie surgery for our baby yorkies until I seen quads post bout, how ill fitting the ones he had bought were. The spasilk preemies would be perfect for the pups under 5 lbs :-) they are really cute and so so soft. |
Thanks. I bought some cheap onsies at walmart for Lola, she's about 5lbs and I had to take them in. Carter looks like they run smaller but they haven't had what I needed. I'm surprised preemie onsies are still so hard to find. I was a preemie too, my mom had to use cloth diapers and I swam in my clothes. |

How goes the recovery, I know it will take time, but wishing you a speedy recovery, I always hated being laid up on the couch or bed, unable to walk. Cheers Quad:aimeeyork |
