A great article from a VET |
I'm not a fan of holistic vets unless everything has been tried with a regular vet. Also certain vaccines are necessary maybe not every year but there are a purpose for vaccines and they do help keep you pet healthy. Your pet can end up with a disease or illness even from not getting vaccinated and it might even be worse its its parvo or Lepto or something equally as dangerous. I grew up with several dogs first one was put to sleep around 8 years old because a disk broke in her back and she could not walk at that time there was no surgery that could fix it at least that's what was told to us, second dog had only puppy shots never had heart worm meds or yearly or biyearly shots he died of cancer at 9, third dog same thing as the second and again cancer. I don't think that it is 100% vaccines that are causing our dogs to get sick I think its our environment look at human cancers and illness they are on the rise and I know people are not getting shots every year or every couple of years. |
Thank you for posting...I like the Holistic approach 1st, if that doesn't work, then conventional medicine. |
I switched from conventional to Holistic and I'm incredibly happy with the outcome so far. I have to disagree about injecting insecticides in your pets keeping them alive. It's like us, you get a tetanus shot every ten years, polio, chicken pox, rubella, once, why do you constantly need to vaccinate your dogs. I'm very certain there are major differences in the approaches of all vets maintstream or holistic. So there is no denying that people may be skeptical. I have found my vets to be incredibly well educated in what they are practicing. |
It's the food we eat and the production of those foods that leads to genetic changes and cancer mutations in humans, same ingredients put in kibbles and low end dog foods, that is why my dogs get locally produced organic raw food |

Genetics are also a contributing factor. |

Bordatella is only needed if you board your dogs a lot or interact with dogs that are unknown to you and lepto comes only recommended if you have dogs that are exposed to strange outdoor environments. Like heartworm/flea meds. My friends spend the entire summer with their Yorkies in the woods so they double dose them |

Thanks for the article. Buster has two main Vets his regular holistic Vet who studied under Dr Pitcairn whom I rely on for his basic maintenance and vaccines/titers and a 2nd conventional Vet if the issues require.Buster has never received a Bordatella shot. He does not go to a groomer, daycare, and I do not board him. Humans do not require a flu shot every year. I did not get flu shots for years and never got sick and the one year I did get one from work I got the flu. The flu shot is only good for that specific strain of flu. |
Yes I don't agree with the double dosing either. Sorry about your goat |
I've never had a flu shot in my life. I also try to avoid prescription drugs as much as possible. |
