Hmmm, she seemed ok when I applied, then again she is stitched so tight there aint anything near opened! |
I think Cook's gums must be doing well today, as she was just chewing her tennis ball! |

Oh my! Quiet that child down! She needs to heal! I was given strict orders to keep Zoey off her feet and quiet the day after, after all it is major surgery! I have t remind hubby that too he so loves to play with her and she knows it, but there ain't no wiggling and squirming today! The most activity she has had is being tucked in my coat and taken outside for a sniff of the air , it's such a dark, dreary , day anyway , tis good to just lay around. And the silly little thing will if you will. It's good to hear she is doing so well though. |

I remember before we had my mastiff spayed a little 15 pound dachsund had snuck into the back yard and tried to mate with my 165 lb mastiff. I can't imagine what those puppies would have looked like. |

Cook just had her second poop, and this time it didn't look difficult at all; just a normal #2. She was practically dragging me along when I took her out on her leash, moving with such excitement. I know without the leash she would surely be running and jumping outside on our potty trips. |

I think every month counts to give them time to mature....and they can come in early. |

I wonder if it's a good idea to get her back on her normal kibble soon, since she was chewing her ball a little earlier. I'll start introducing her chew toys again in a day or two. I didn't want her to have them right away because she takes them and shakes the crap out of them in her mouth to play with them, sort of the same way Minnie used to do to snap birds' and squirrels' necks when she caught and killed them. |
I am keeping her as quiet as I can, but they have a mind of their own. She's been in her x-pen a lot, especially when she starts to get rambunctious. She's having no problems with eating or bathroom, and her incision looks great, no redness or swelling or moisture. Glad everyone else is doing well with the recovery. Cheers Quad & Gina:aimeeyork |

We had to take it down and today she felt the urge to go after it and it wasn't there......awwwwwwwwwww! No shakin for a while...remember those stitches trying to heal our babies, they don't know. |
Correction Long piece of elastic |
Update on the Aloe Vera I am impressed! Zoey' s stitches aren't bothering her as much . I put the gel on twice today and she does not have her head buried in her belly anymore . And that's WITH a onesie on..... I highly recommend this stuff. I do have a holistic vet and I think I have already benefited from that. |
Cookie's poop just now was pretty dark. Never seen that before. I wonder what that means? Maybe just the change to canned Pedigree? |
Yeh I went thru some dog food changes and for some reason poop was black. I saw itas bad sign of bad food😱 Oh well .....pedigree is not a very reliable brand.....anyone on the board will tell you. I was just glad to find a kibble my fur baby would eat! I was doin the dog food dance and it ain't fun...... Orijen is a premium dog food and I can tell a big difference with her than what she has been on. Even her poop looks healthy. If you have invested in a yorkies. Invest in better dog food. Their health depends on you. I wish I had somebody tell me this with my last yorkie. |

Cook is definitely getting her energy back! Right after going out and to the bathroom this morning she started rolling around to scratch her back on the floor really playfully. I hate keeping my baby confined to one boring room, but it's the only way to keep her from zooming around the house full speed and from jumping up on furniture. I can tell she just wants to run right now and burn off some of that puppy energy. |

Haha. Too funny! What a sight that would be:rolleyes: |
Cookie's energy is growing by leaps and bounds every day. Now she's here kind of hopping up and down and demanding I take her out to play. Sorry babe, no outside play until the 18th when we get your stitches taken out. :( |
The little stinker just stole my socks out my shoes and was shaking them in her mouth like she wanted to kill them. D'oh, I have been purposely keeping her toys she shakes in the other room for a couple more days, since I want to give the cut a few days to heal before she starts making those movements trying to kill her chew toys. Do you guys think it's ok for her to have those kind of toys back by the fifth day or so? She is hopping mad at me now for not taking her outside to play or for a W-A-L-K. lol |
Gina's the same, she has all of her toy in the x-pen, but we aren't playing fetch, and the toys that she shakes are her dragon, and little yellow duck, but she also sleeps with those two toys. She's in her x-pen and growling, and whimpering at me to let her out so she can run around, and continue to jump up and down on the seat and back of the couch. Cheers Quad & Gina:aimeeyork |
Same here...chew toys only.. I take her out to sniff the air ....I drape a folded pillowcase over her and pick her up that way. Her legs don't hang that way, then tuck her in my coat and I go for a walk ....she loves that these first few days... I think leash ing them for a walk is ok when they feel more active but I would be careful with the tugging and shaking toys.....depends on what type harness you have for a walk, mine is bark appeal? Wraps around the chest.....but oh my goodness that ain't too far from the rest of it! |
Dogs pick up on YOUR energy so try and stay calm. Suppose to isolate them away from other pets in house too, although I don't have any.... This is day after for us so Zoey slept in till 10 , up to pee, eat , poop, and , uh, play???.... Amounts to me laying on floor with her, she loves that, ( then hubbys turn if he wants something to eat, lol) then perched on a pillow watching the leaves fall, and going from one chew toy to another , banana snack, eyes wiped , loves that, change of onesie, then nappy time.....I can tell by her eyes she's ready.....so here I am again! Lol in bed with her and my pad. |
