Eating troubles 1 Attachment(s) So apparently NINO has been eating the wee wee pads not just tearing them up I found a teared up pad in his xpen but notice their was pieces missing as if they were being eaten .. & this evening when he pooped I seen pieces of the pad -_- how can I get him to stop ? Picture below of my little bad ass :) I love him to pieces <3 |
I have no clue what you should do. The stinker! But I'm sure someone will come along soon that can help you. He is very cute! :) |
How old is your dog? And do you crate train it? |
Gina would just tear them up, although, given the opportunity she would have eaten them as well. I just did outside training only, I would have loved her to do both outside and pads, but these little demons have a mind of their own, you can't help but love them. I would try the washable ones that some members here sell, at least it will be harder to eat those. Cheers Quad:aimeeyork |
He's a week & 3 months old ...& yes I have a crate from him it's combined with his x pen so he can go in n out when he has to use the bathroom when I'm not home he does great with it it's just with te tearing and eating them that has my concern |
I'm currently doing the pads the vet doesn't recommend I take him out yet until his rabies shot has been giving n it'll be some time before that ..I would try the washable ones but I live in an apartment n that'll be a lot of washing when I don't have direct access to a wash n dryer |
If you can take him out in the morning and let him do his business and then spend a little time with him and then into the crate. I am sure you go to work and it may seem like a long time to leave him in there but it is tough love right now. He will not pee or poop in there probably. He might but that will end quickly. Dogs will not pee and poop where they sleep. That will act as his room. You need to make sure that the crate is as small as he is. If it is to big, he will fail. Note that he is young and may slip up. That's ok! He will get it! Then when you get home take him out immediately. He will learn the process and it takes hard love but it will pay off! Trust me. I am doing the same right now. Oh and by the way, I am not sure how he can contract rabies unless he gets bitten. Praise, praise, praise, when he goes outside. Good Boy!!! |
Have you tried different types of pad holders for the pads? I tried 3 different ones, before I actually found the one that worked and stopped my Gizmo from eating them :-) the one that finally worked for me was the big squirt made by little rascal. |
Would you try a potty patch? You can wash it in a sink and I like to put potty pads under the grass part so I just have to clean the grass and not all of it. It's worth a try if it'll keep the little one from eating it. |
