Puppies can not be fat. If you are very worried you can talk to your vet about it. |

Yorkies come in all shapes and sizes. Your pup could of had a larger grandparent in its breeding lines. As long as you have no plans on showing your pup it really doesnt matter on how little or big she is. My Tucker came from 4 pound parents and his is a solid 9.5 pounds of lovable pooch, not fat just short and cobby. :) |

If you've been to the vet and they aren't concerned, then you shouldn't be either. Love comes in many sizes! |
Have you takenn her to the vet and asked how much you should be feeding daily? If her parents are on the smaller side do you know how big Honeys grandsire/dam are? Her larger size can come from one of them. Do you free feed? I used to free feed my 5 month old yorkie(Rasta) the daily recommended amount and it would be eaten by noon(he's a pig lol) I divide the daily amount into three portions. Btw welcome to YT! |

Puppies need to eat as much as they need to grow healthy bones, tissues, and organs. Your puppy food should have guidelines about how much to feed your pup according to his size. I find a lot of people mention here on YT that the parents of their pups were 4 to 6 lbs and yet their pups grow to be quite a bit bigger. If you did not see both parents there is just no way to really know what size they actually were or the size of their ancestors. The genes back several generations on both sides of the family determine size. If your breeder has any knowledge about dogs he/she knows your pup is not fat. He is just quite a bit bigger than what they made you think he was going to be. I'm sure he will still be a wonderful pet. |

I'm glad you are happier with her being bigger. I'm partial to the bigger ones myself. More to love. Depending on the type of food 1/4 cup might be perfect. In general, the better the food quality, the less volume they need. |
Our purebred is 11 pounds, I would make sure you feed her off the feeding guide of the food that you give her since they all fill differently. And if the vet says she is fine you are all good. Congrats on the new pup! |

My breeder had a litter of pups, three, two girls one boy. The were a normal size and the boy was massive, parents were 5 and 6 pounds and he ended up 10 pounds at 6 months old, his sisters were 5 pounds |
