Hope you find a home for him soon!! BTW~I don't have a fence for my boys. I had a few rescues turn me down bc I don't have one and I completely understand why...but my boys are spoiled rotten and well taken care of. When it's warm enough, we go on walks at least once a day...twice a day in the summer. A fence would be handy to have...but I still wouldn't let my boys run around outside unsupervised. There are too many dangers out there for them. |

Such good news! I'm so happy for the little guy. I don't think a fence is absolutely necessary but you want to make sure he is never going to be tied outside again. I know many here do not have fences but use potty pads and/or walk their babies. I have a real difficult time with people who get a dog and then either tie it out or just leave it in the backyard for the rest of it's life. It does sound like he needs someone who has time to sit with him and who really enjoys a lap dog. Congratulations on saving this little guy. Just be really careful about who you let have him. Pictures? |

loose dog I'm confused. Yes, I did buy him and have a bill of sale from the owner. The little guy is doing good. I bought him a shirt halter type. He hates to be on a leash and I think it scares him after being tied up all the time. His old owner really did a lot of harm to him. He watches the other 2 dogs and tries to follow them. Hope we can find a owner for him soon or it's going to be tough to let him go. When she bought him over he had a collar on that was at least an inch wide and pulled up in the middle with plastic ties to tighten it. Ugh! My oldest yorkie has a bad heart condition and my other yorkie has a liver issue so they are both on a lot of meds and special foods which is kind of hard having the little guy. He loves to go in the car with my husband. |

Hopefully, your pups will be a good influence on the little guy. Perhaps you should post in the "Yorkie Rescues and New Homes Needed" section. You may be able to find someone to do a courtesy post on Petfinder too. It would be wonderful to see him go to a fellow YT member!! |

It would be really good for him if you could find an experienced Yorkie owner. There are so many things to know about this breed and a good and experienced owner would make things so much easier on a dog that has already had a bad experience. |

Judy, I'm still around. However, I still don't have a fenced in yard lol and I have another Yorkie that is 2 and I own a cat. If your little guy does not get along with other dogs, than it wouldn't be a good fit. I do work full time, my husband works part time and Freddie is gated in my bedroom (when not home) which is over 400 square feet, and uses potty pads. Of course he is trained for outdoors too. I could foster for you, to see if it would work. I absolutely understand if you want a full time stay at home mom. But if you run out of options, this could be one. |

Awesome news that you were able to buy him!! Good Job!! So glad that you are the kind of person that didn't turn a blind eye on the situation. So many people would have ignored it. If he's not a good fit for you and your family you will find the right home for him in time! At least now you can sleep at night. One down and millions to go so I pray that everyone that reads this thread will reach out and play a part in helping animals in need somehow or someway! Hats off to you and everyone on this site that are on a mission!!!! You made my day!!!! |

loose dog Yeah!! Our little rescue dog found a good home today. A recommendation from my vet. He went to an older lady who has raised yorkies all her life. He has a new mom who has a fence for him to roam in. Am so happy for him!! Cried when he left as he really was a little love bug but just had to much energy for my older dogs. :) |
