REPUTABLE Yorkie Breeders/Rescue
 

Hi all,

I don't post here very often, my Lily has just turned 5 & I think I love her more everyday!

Recently, a couple of people have been asking where they can get a dog like Lily, same size (teacup-yes I know better now) and all... and the first thing I suggest is that they adopt...When I got Lily I wasn't as well informed and got her from a 'breeder' - which looking back on it, the whole situation was so sketchy I should've known better. I'm almost certain Lily is the product of a mill. There have even been posts about the couple who I got her from on this forum.
Even now she's still an extremely nervous girl and isn't a fan of many people. I have done some volunteer work at a local rescue, and whenever possible, I try to inform people of the existence of puppy mills so they don't make the same mistake I did (although my Lily is NOT a mistake, she's my best friend and like my child!) - however, its very difficult to weed through the countless yorkie 'breeder' sites - I want to KNOW this is a good place that loves their dogs I'm referring someone to. Personally, I'm not a fan of breeding at all but not everyone is interested in rescuing a dog. Might as well suggest a REPUTABLE breeder.
With ALL that said, lol, do any of you know of a great breeder in the NY/NJ area?

There are a few people who are looking to rehome their dogs on here. It would be great if they found a home on YT. You could also try Petfinder...(http://www.petfinder.com/) That is where I found my newest guy, and I helped someone else find a dog on there as well. From puppies to seniors, you will find yorkies of all ages and sizes on there!! There is also Yorkshire Terrier National Rescue...(http://www.yorkierescue.com/) and they have fosters in different states across the US.


There's also quite a few great breeders on here and a "for sale" section as well. Not sure if anyone is located near you or not, but if people are willing to travel, they could for sure find some fantastic pups on here.
