Got some questions... I am getting one step closer to welcoming a new yorkie into our home, but have a few more questions. I will have to get a xpen to put the pup in while I am at work, till it is more pad trained and allowed more room to roam bout in the house. How big of a xpen shall I get, and then how many training pads shall I put down in the xpen to last all day till I get home to change them out? Also, can a cloud 9 bed be used in a crate, or shall I find a different type of bed to use in the crate. I was thinking of putting the crate on the outside of the xpen, but still be able to attach the xpen to it, if that makes any sense, so that way, there is more room to run about in the xpen, but be able to sleep in the crate... |

I used this ex-pen for all my dogs, and loved it. Are you putting it on a solid surface floor, like a kitchen, to make clean up easier? You might start with more than 1 pee pad, then take away a few as the pup gets better. Amazon.com: IRIS Indoor/Outdoor Plastic Pet Pen... I don't know about Cloud 9 bed fitting in crate (?) |
I started with two pads and then gradually worked my way down to one when I first got Ellie. And I always had her beds in the pen with her! |
I was thinking of putting pup in the living room with the tv on, for when we are gone, but the living room has wood floors. I would do the kitchen or the sunroom/laundry room, with the tile floors, but there is no tv in those rooms... How big of peepads shall I get? I am thinking of the washable ones that T Bumpkins makes... (I hope I got the name right?) |
I never personally liked the washable ones. I liked being able to pick them up and throw them away especially when they are younger and they make more messes. Thats just me though. And I would definitely put them on tile floor. Make sure if you get the disposable ones to get the thicker ones. I have made the mistake of buying the thin ones before and they make a bigger mess than anything. |
