bitter apple spray my yorkie loves the bitter apple spray he licks it right off my fingers, is there any hope for his biting? e is 10 weeks old |
You can try roll on deodorant. They outgrow the chewing stage. |
If you find something that works, let me know.... My pup likes bitter apple too (maybe not *like* it, but it doesn't stop her from chewing)... And as gross as this is, if she can get to it.... she tries to lick the deodorant off me! Eeeewwwww. |
hahahahahah, I actually just went and bought the bitter apple spray. I sprayed it on a couple of places so I dunno how Zoe would react yet. He's been sleeping since I got back. Lets hope it works. |
I hope something works Miss Mini bites hard ..Ive been telling her no bite ..but she gets wound up and starts biting my feet , hands anything she can she has even drawn blood on my arm 2 and shes only 11 wks old ..YIKES ..And now we know why God made em cute! .. Deb |
OUch! Zoe starts biting on everything when he gets excited. I think its normal cuz they're teething but I hope it will end cuz I feel terrible saying "no" every other second. |
Cali din't stop with bitter apple or deodorant. She was crazy with biting and it hurt! She finally has almost completely stopped it at 6 months of age! I think time is what really works with some of them. It looks like most of her adult teeth are in. |
I've read that you scream OUCH and then turn and walk away not talking to her at all. Ignore her. |
I used Bitter Orange from Revival or somewhere. And, have also used Coat Saver which is safe to actually spray or paint on the dog so it is safe.. |
What about hot pepper sauce? Star, Taffy and Baby |
I tried all sorts of stuff too with chloe and sadly none of them worked. She just loved biting for the first 3 months that I had her. Luckily its just a phase for them. Chloe quit biting at about 6 months of age. :) |
Never had a puppy that didn't go through the biting (teething) stage. My new little Yorkie is doing it right now. I really don't think there's much you can do about it - and I can promise you that they outgrow it. I don't sit and let my pup chew on me - I keep moving him away - give him something else to chew on - get his attention on something else - feed him - whatever....... Time will cure this problem........ Carol Jean |
