need prayers and some advice Today zoey hit her head on the floor i was sitting down and she always wants to jump up into my lap so i took her up for a few mins then when i came to put her back down on the floor she squirmed and hit skull on the floor i wished my floors were carpeted at that moment. I freaked out because of the sound i heard and then she make (i still dont know what it was a choking sound?) i believe she fainted i thought she was gonna die (it was only a feww inches of the ground and some would think it wasnt a big deal but it was a pretty hard hit and she has a soft spot) so i rushed (i had just woken up and was in my pjs) to the vet and she was in my arms cradled like a baby and wasnt moving her tongue was out but she had a heart beat then while i was driving she started to move its she wasnt moving to climbing on my shoulder (every time she feesl uncomfortable while im holding her or shes on her back she climbs to my shoulder) while i was driving i was trying not to let her move i didnt want her to injure anything further...i rushed into the vet crying and they saw me and took her immediately while i quickly explained what happened. i waited for a while outside bec they wouldnt let me come in after a few mins they called me in and said she was fine the doctor gave me some pain meds and that was it i asked if he should do an xray and he said no it wouldnt really show anything...now im soo worried...we r home now shes completely alert and walking but very quiet which i would be too but im worried if she could get seizures? or something else would happen? anyone had this happen? please pray she will be okay |

Praying for your sweet girl. |
Praying Zoey is fine she may be quiet because of the shock of the fall and may act like her normal self tomorrow. You may want to get an area rug wherever there are steps where she could fall...we have a few in my home. I hope everything is better tomorrow *hugs* |
Maybe you should get a second opinion..... It sounds like she might have really hurt herself. If she was knocked out, for any amount of time, she needs an evaluation for head trauma! Prayers and thoughts that she is ok! |
Praying that she is ok...they sure can scare us..(((HUGS))) |
Yikes sounds very scary. I will keep her in my prayers. |
wow so sorry to hear this, I just posted on another thread where the puppy got a hard bang on the head. I see you pup is about6 months, what do you mean by soft spot, what does the vet say about that. Also how did he check her out to be able to proclaim she is fine. That's the sad thing about these type of injuries often vets don't want to or are not able to do things like MRI's or X rays very easily or inexpensively. I think if a pup is healthy a bang from a short distance does not normally cause a lot of harm but when you say she has a soft spot that does make me more concerned. Prayers she will be just fine |

Did the vet give you a list of symptoms to look out for? Signs of a concussion can be delayed. |
