Hi and WELCOME to YT :)!!! So glad you found us, especially as you could use some support right now. I know exactly how you feel...I was so scared about Wylie's LP surgery. We did both knees at once (REALLY glad we did, too) about a year ago and Wylie is doing just amazing. He recovered fast ,the recovery was easier than I thought it would be, and he has no signs of any knee issues at all anymore. It is scary bringing them home at first bc of the bandages etc...I'll admit that; they're in pretty rough shape the first day or two, but after that they truly snap back. Please keep us posted on Layla's surgery and know you're in my thoughts! :) |
Is an an orthopedic specialist? If no cancel the surgery and find one it will be worth it. There have been people who had a regular vet do the surgery and then had to have a orthopedic vet go in and fix it. My Yorkie Callie had LP surgery and the first week was the worst she would not eat, drink or use the bathroom and even on two pain meds she was hurting. She had to stay in the play pen for 8 weeks and I just bought a cheap baby one. It's very important to do everything the surgeon says or it could mess things up. Good luck. |
