kennel cough I am so mad// I just got a call from the place where I get morgan groomed and on the day that morgan was groomed there was dog with kennel cough and I have had morgan get his bordatella vaccination but the vet said there are many strains of it like the flu so I am praying that he does not get it. and if he gets I have a 15 1/2 year old JRT who might not be able to fight it . sorry to rant. |
I will never understand why people will leave there house or let there kids leave the house sick so I really can not understand why they do it with there dogs too. Heck Callie's dew claw was swollen with issues and I would not take her to the groomer until I talked to the vet about it first. Yeah she had a lot of hair but at least I knew I was keeping Callie safe and making sure it was nothing other dogs could get. Praying she does not get it. |
thank you// I am so careful where I take him// I always make sure he is up to date on his vacinations and his heartworm |
Saying prayers that your pups don't get that kennel cough. I |
Praying he doesn't get it. Some people just don't seem to think of others or their pets well being smh I just don't get it |
Hope your baby stays well!! |
At the risk of playing the devils advocate... I don't think some people know what kennel cough is or what the symptoms are. Also, the symptoms usually don't show right away so the owner might not realize it till later. Magnus and Zoey caught it several months back. My sister mentioned her dog having it and warned me so I researched. That's the only reason I knew what it was when I heard the cough. Of course, I took them to the vet right away and kept them contained for over a month. M/Z are always up to date with their vaccines and when I asked, the vet said it's not 100% protection. However, if the pup does catch it, the vaccine would help get better faster or help so the infection won't be as bad. I'm really sorry your pup caught it... I hope your JRT doesn't catch it. Hopefully, the vaccine will help your pup get over it faster. |

1. Sauna time I use this as an excuse to ignore the world and take an extra long shower that steams up the bathroom. The steam helps loosen any mucous. 2. Honey Most dogs like honey and that's good because it soothes their throat (if they have been coughing) and has antibacterial properties. As you do with babies, I would not feed this to a puppy. 3. Coconut oil The smell and taste of Coconut oil is also a sweet delight for dogs and can be given to all ages. It tastes good and kiils bacteria. 4. Aromatherapy Many essential oils are anti-bacterial and anti-viral. This can give you another excuse to create for yourself a spa-like environment by spritzing or diffusing Eucalyptus & Rosemary around you and your dog. I like to do these all the time anyway for myself and the dogs. HTH:animal36 |
Sick Piper got that or I think that was it when she stayed at the vet's over the weekend. She even had the shot. Took forever to get well. Now she pretty much travels with me. |
thank you to everbody// I love being able to come to a place where people understand you and your love for your yorkie |
Praying nobody gets ill with it. I'd do a bleach solution cleaning of the floors, and I believe it helps kill viruses in the air.... I get less colds when I use bleach on a regular basis. A 5% solution is strong enough to kill most bugs. |
thank you/ I already did that// I washed all the toys// cleaned the floor// washed the beds in the steam cycle of my washer// it has a sanitizer cycle |
