Gizmo The Amazing Survivor And Thriver :-) So Gizmo for those that don't remember his story, was rescued by me at nine weeks, with only a few hours of survival left in him. He had been starved by a BYB to stunt his growth so she could try to sell him as a micro yorkie. When he went into hypoglycemic shock, on his way into a coma, she decided to try and hurry to sell him before he died. By the time I got him to the vet after getting him, approx. 20 mins later, he was down and floppy, they could not wake him up, but thanks to them not giving up, they brought him out of the coma he was going into. I have had him now for seven weeks, and after nursing him back to health with a lot of time, energy, care, and vet visits, I'm happy to say HE WEIGHS 3lbs 9ozs !!!!!!!! It's so hard to believe he was only 1 lb 4ozs when I saved him. It's so rewarding to be loved by this little fighter, and he's very good sized now for being 4 months old :-) I love him so so much, he has the biggest heart I've ever seen and so much spirit XOXO He just had his last round of shots today and his vet said he's good for a year YAY GIZMO:-) of course he will be going sooner then that because I will have him neutered at 6 months:-) So how long do I wait from his last shots today to take him for walks? We've been practicing in our courtyard with his one of many buddy. Belts he will be getting, and he's a pro :-) I just need to know how long to wait because I forgot to ask the vet. I keep thinking its either 1 or 2 weeks. Thank you to all here, you really helped me so much getting little Gizmo through his ordeal and I am forever thankful. Will post some new pics and video soon :-) |
Congratulations! Two weeks after last round of shots is what's accepted and recommended. I'm sure he's a very special boy-can't wait for recent pix! |

Almost 5 years ago, I was lied to by a surgeon, that told me I needed surgery on my spinal cord. Because of him giving me false test results, and him doing surgery on my spinal cord, I ended up being partially paralyzed with what is called cauda equina syndrome. I almost died and was on life support for 17 days. The medical board is finally pursuing this dr., in fact they are coming to my home Friday to talk to me. It's a huge investigation, because the surgeon has done this to many others. There are already 6 other charges on him already and many more to come. He's had 24 malpractice suits against him in the last 3 years, so I totally feel like Gizmo was totally meant to be here with me. We have both almost lost our lives at the hands of another. It truly is mazing how fate works, and I fully believe he was meant to be here with me we are 2 of a kind xoxo I have never bonded so quickly and closely to an animal in my life. I have three kitties, which I love dearly, as they were rescues too, but with Gizmo it's different for me :-) |

Yes they actually do. My vet educated me that their is no such thing as a micro or teacup breed. What these breeders do, is keep the runts of litters, then breed the runts together, take them from their mommies very early on, controlling how much nutrients they get, to stunt their growth forever. It all really makes me so sick, and I don't know how they sleep at night. In a sense I guess it was a blessing she did not succeed, even though he had to almost die to escape that fate, he is now right on track to be of standard size :-) My vet says she has seen this so often, and most don't make it through once they get to the point Gizmo had gotten. I am just so thankful that sick woman panicked, and I was able to get him to the vet on time. I also found out he was possibly breed with a standard black/tan yorkie and a parti yorkie. That is why he has a bit of white on the ends of each foot. In the pic I just posted, there looks like white near his chin, but it was the way the camera flashed that made his chin look so light, it's actually a gold color :-) They seriously need to go after these people that starve these puppies the way they do and prosecute them !!!! I only had a phone number to give when I filed a report with animal control as she had me meet her where I did not know where she lived, and gave me a fake name, it's what these people do. I will forever be in debt to my neighbor who told me about the pup, so I was able to rescue him from a certain death. I don't think anyone else would gave handed over the $400 to get him out of her hands, which to me the money didn't matter, I just wanted to save him. I literally cried the whole way to the vets thinking he would die before I got him there, that was how bad he was :-( Thankfully I haves wonderful vet, who cared as much as I did about saving his life XOXO |
