OMG! What do I do with this puppy I found??
 

This morning DH turned up with a 2 month old puppy.He found her in the road (almost ran her over) and she´s a beautiful mix of some kind.She weighs around 8lbs, shes very clean, someone has cut her hair and kept her well groomed and very well fed, but even though I´ve plastered her picture all over facebook (I have many many friends from the village we found her in) no one has ever seen her or knows where she comes from.
She is AMAZING! She sits, she "comes" and she is extremely loving, but Bella is expecting her puppies any moment now and I feel that I can´t keep her in the house because I doubt she´s had any shots yet :(
I have no idea where she came from, if a vet has seen her, or if her presence can be dangerous for Bellas pups, so I have no idea what to do or where I can take her :(

Ugh...I feel so bad for her, she really needs a foster home but no one can take her in :(

Do you have any rescue organizations near you?

I did live near a shelter (where I did voluntary work) a few years back, but we recently moved here to the middle of nowhere and now there is not much of anything close by.
Also, our rescues arent like yours :( If no one fosters her or adopts her in a week, she would be put down, and to do that to her, we may as well have left her in the road :( At least here at home, I know she´s ok.

She is BEAUTIFUL, and so affectionate and my daughter is calling her Layla..I want to find either her owners or a loving foster home but that´s so darn hard here because people don´t tend to have much time for dogs.

I also have no idea how she could have found her way into the street..she´s only a baby, and she´s very good, so I don´t get how she got lost..I´m just hoping that she is infact lost and hasnt been abandoned..because I´ve had 3 phonecalls today asking me if she´s a yorkie (you can´t see how big she really is from the picture) and that if she is, they´ll "take her off my hands for me" :eek: But when I say that she´s a big pup and that she´s a mix, they don´t want her :(

I´m wondering if her previous owner got her thinking she was a yorkie (or yorkie mix) and when he realised how big she was getting, he dumped her?? She must have been very very young though :confused: :(

she is beautiful... maybe you could post she is a shih tzu mix (it looks like it is possible) or a maltees yorkie mix???? Maybe that would let people know she is a bit bigger.

She is adorable! I'm glad you picked her up. Hope you can find her home or a good place for her.

Ugh..I placed an add on a local website and people have been phoning me all afternoon asking if she´s a purebred, when I say no, they don´t want her.
I am looking for her OWNER, not giving away a puppy! Do people not read?? :mad:
So I just took the add down and DH has printed out some mini posters that he´ll take to our vet on Monday and to the petfood store etc.

She just pooped and her poop is solid (always good right? lol), and she´s eating etc.Oh she is so freakin CUTE!!! :love:
If she were mine and she´d gone missing, I´d be devistated, so I hope we´ll hear something soon.

So happy that you are looking for her owner! Here's hoping that you can locate the owner who may be desperately looking for her but just in all the wrong places. I'd call all the shelters, pounds, rescues and vets in the city and post notices online and locally everywhere I could and of course, you have to keep trying all the same places over and over as their help isn't always consistent or up-to-date on what's going on. You practically have to call each place daily. It's a shame the dog wasn't microchipped so you could have her scanned. I haven't read the whole thread but does your city have a Facebook page for lost & found dogs? Also might try posting on Twitter, just in case.

Now, if you haven't already done so, take that dog to the vet asap and at least do fecal sample (if there is any chance it might have parvo etc. it could kill every dog in your house). Did you already have her scanned for microchip?

How did you determine it to be 2 months old (just curious, I would have guessed older).

Be very cautious about letting her around your doggies, especially with expecting delivery of pups any minute now. Yikes.

I know things are different in Spain, but general precautions are warranted anywhere.

Since she is so young hopefully she hasn't caught anything that could infect your pups. Also, I'd just put up posters and search the LOST ads until Monday when everything is open If someone lost her they are probably going to post something. Good LUCK!!!

Poor little girl. So glad you found her and are doing what you can to find her owners. Praying all works well for her.

I originally thought she was older too, because she is chunky and she´s waaaay bigger than Milo & Bella, but she has ever so tiny baby teeth and they are all tight and barely through the gums (some are still on their way through), so she isnt more than 2 months old.

She´s on my covered terrace right now (I think you´d call it a sun room?).
It´s a warm night and she has a bed, a blankie, food, fresh water and some toys, so she´ll be fine out there until we can see what to do tommorow.She´s asleep right now so I know she´ll be fine.
I have made my kids wash their hands and I havent let her anywhere near Milo & Bellas things just in case.
I´m keeping my fingers crossed.

OMG...your in Spain right? yikes...I've got nothing to help you with but OBVIOUSLY YOU ARE DOING ALL THE RIGHT THINGS and right away...this is the way it should be done...thank you for helping the little guy.

I'm glad you got her off the road... That poor baby must have been scared! I'm sure someone is looking for her... I would just post that you found a small dog, and make sure whoever calls has to describe her. I could see someone calling and saying she's theirs just to get a free cute puppy :(
