HELP!! Advice on home prepared meals! Okay so after extensive research the thought of my Oakley eating someof these manufactured dog foods scares me. So I've decided to prepare his meals. However even with a list of the needed proteins minerals fats vitamins etc. I still can not find a daily menu for home prepared foods. So if anyone has any suggestions please let me know. My mother has 3 shih tzus and she prepares chicken for them along with sweet potatoes and carrots but she also feeds dry kibble. But I would like to be able to prepare Oakley meals that provide most if not all of his needed nutrients minimizing store bought food. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. He goes to the vet tomorrow for his normal visit and I'm going to talk to him about it as well. Ps. In the past 2 weeks Oakley has had about 3 episodes of a very loud growling tummy and he won't eat anything and he will kind of rub his belly on the floor like his tummy hurts. It usually last only an hr or 2 and he's fine and then he'll eat like normal. |

I did a lot of reading about what vet nutritionists in the ACVN suggest, and many recommend home cooked along with supplements from BalanceIt.com. You can also have a diet for a healthy pet made for $25.00 by an excellent vet nutritionist, dr. Rebecca Remillard. Her diet are supplemented with BalanceIt, as well. I home cook for Katie, and it's easy. I am confident in the ingredients I use and know that her diet is nutritionally balanced. I hope Oakley feels better. https://secure.balanceit.com/tools/recipegenerator/ PetDiets - Diets for Healthy Pets - the right diet made easy! |
Hello, Fellow-Va Yorkie Owner! I was happy to see you are also from Virginia! We are in the Shenandoah Valley area in the western side of the state. My Yorkie turned 3 years old this July. I bought him from a friend and now have converted my 'cat lover' husband to a Yorkie lover as well. Ha! The 3 of us are now watching one of my hubby 's baseball games in the den...Taffy will divide his time between us. He curls up on Mike's lap for half the game, then stretches out behind me on the sofa, and finally follows me to bed every night. He's a very good natured little fellow..... |
