chewing motion/sound at night my yorkie been doing the chewing motion/sound also like licking motion in the night with nothing in his mouth. whats wrong? i make him drinks before going to bed and have checked nothing in his mouth. since i am staying in a air condition room, will it be due to dry air? he licks to lubricate his mouth? |
He could be dreaming, maybe? Otherwise, you may be right - perhaps his mouth is dry and it's his body's way of hydrating his mouth. |
:D My husband does that.....!!!! :D Just wondering - does your Littlie have free-roam, or is he confined to a crate at night? When Harry :aimeeyork used to be crated at night, I often used to hear those sounds. Ann's quite right, sometimes he WAS dreaming....but I was worried about him being thirsty, so would leave a small bowl of water in there....which was often knocked over his bed etc. in the morning. We got round this by attaching a water bottle to his crate - it didn't take too long for him to learn how to use it (a tiny smear of peanut butter over the drippy-bit helped enormously ;)) Hope you manage to sort it out! I shared my pillow with the westie, he sleeps the upper and me the lower half. The yorkie sleeps besides me with his own tiny pillow. So either one makes that noise, i am sure to wake up as both are near my ears..... |
:) I was thinking more about this last night....as you do, when you can't sleep.... When Harry was a little boy and making these noises, and he wasn't dreaming and he wasn't thirsty - I put it down eventually to him suckling....inadvertently, in his sleep, making those sounds and movements that he used to do on his 'fur mummy' :) Sally + Harry x |
