Fleas fleas oh the dang fleas!! Well I thought I got rid of them but the boogers are back seen one crawling on Darla again so today ill give her another bath was beds and blankets and I've even resorted to buying a flea collar. She's on frontline. But she still has fleas? I'm so frustrated!!! |
Have you tried comfortis? I really love using it. It starts working within 30 minutes after giving it to them and within hours the fleas are gone. |
Frontline didn't work for Bentley and he has been on Advantix II and no fleas or ticks. I had to have something work for him as he is allergic to flea saliva. |
I've never had any luck with frontline since moving out here, though it worked just great for us in California. We've also had better results with Advantix II. In addition to treating her blankets and bed, you will need to treat all of the soft surfaces in your house like carpets, your bedding, couches etc. |
I haven't tried either of those. But I'm sure this frontline does not work! I'm going to see if my vet has either of these. |
I'm in California. These are the worst. |

I am not sure about the Advantix I have never used it before. I have heard great things about it though. I have always used Comfortis. Advantix is sold over the counter but you have to get Comfortis from the vet. I use it because it is pill form and I am afraid my 2 year old daughter will get the topicals on her. So it was safer for my family to use. |

It comes as a BIG tube, the size that you would get for a very large dog. It is the same strength chemical, except for a larger dog you need a larger amount. They give you a vial and a syringe to measure it. The one tube is enough for 6-10 months (I forget exactly). It is WAY cheaper, you are essentially buying it in bulk. You could also just buy the pack for the larger dog from petco if you feel safer dong that, just make sure it's a good long expiration date. They (petstore) charge the same for 4 or 6 tubes for small dogs as they do for 4 or 6 tubes for large dogs, but the large dogs get much more per tube. If you have never used it before you might be more comfortable buying it the first time from your petstore. The people at the website do send you complete directions etc and you can also check the Advantix website. I believe they carry other brands of flea preventative as well. I just received my second order from them and it came very quickly. We are in NJ. Maggie has beenon Advatix 2 since we got her. I skipped the first winter, but she had a tick in January, so now she is on year round. She has had a few "dog" ticks, usually near the end of treatment, and she does roll around in the grass. She has NEVER had a flea. |
Comfortis is the only thing that worked for Minnie, and I first started Cookie on it this week when flea combing every day wasn't working. So far the only flea I have found on Cook since she started it was a dead one I found on her neck. |
I use Comfortis on two of mine. My almost 3 pounder I do not, as it is for 5 pounds and over. |
