My goodness I thought I'd never get the time to introduce myself! I can't get enough of reading all the wonderful advise and information you all have to offer! I love looking at all your babies....and hope my avatar "takes". I'm not too computer savvy, plus taking care of my furbaby...... I am retired and absolutely adore Yorkies. I have had Zoey for 3 months devoting every minute it seems to her well being. I t's been 15 years since my last one broke my heart having to put the tiny sickly little thing down was devastating and thought I could not go thru that again. but here I am a new mommie again, long story, my empty nest syndrome caught up with me. I am a nurturer and my recent round with 10 baby possums pretty much told me I wanted another Yorkie, and here she is.
Zoey Zandaya Esmirelda Marie......lol she is 2 lb at 5 months she needed a big name! Looking forward to making new friends here...

Hello and WELCOME! Zoey is just gorgeous, such a little peanut! I'm so glad to hear you were able to let another pup into you heart, after your last loss. I hope Zoey brings you all kinds of love and joy and vice versa.

I am so happy to hear that a darling little girl with a very big name has filled your heart. She is adorable, and I just want to see more and more pictures, though I do know it is time consuming to be a new mom again.

and the possum story is a funny one too.
One evening I was trying to cook up supper and had fixings out for Lasagna and ravioli. Trying to decide which to fix, in rushes my 10 year old grandson in an excite panic "Grampy found a dead mama possum and she has NINE babies in her pouch! Quick get a box get some newspapers, get some milk they're HUNGRY and making all kinds of noise!"

Caught off guard spoon in hand I said"well I cant take them!". Surprised he said "Well grampy doesn't want them, you don't want them SOMEBODYS got to take them!! Theyre just BABIES!!" So the story goes , that was it...my supper turned into Lasagna olios and I was up every 2 hours drop feeding 10 baby possums for the next 5 days! I finally found a rehabber but not before I got attached to the sweet mild mannered little things. We mad a cute little condo out of boxes with brances in one , sleeping area in another, and feeding area in another, all connected by a cut out hole and some staples.

3 months later the rehabber called me back and asked if I wanted to help find a place to release some. I gladly took the last 2 of my 10 , one we named Penelope, she had missing toes , and my grandson learned a valuable lesson in compassion by rescuing and releasing.

It is a pleasure to meet you and Zoey. Your possum story is beautiful too. Welcome to YT.

nine turned into 10 when hubby says "there was one more but he's dead".
I said Are you sure???
He hesitates and says" looked like it".
I said well go get it. He did and what!!
It was PLAYING POSSUM!!
I warmed it up and gave it a drink and he came around too!
I made a click click sound with my tongue as I fed them those 5 days and 6 weeks later when we went to visit them, Ithey ignored me till I made their mama sound , click click and their noses went up in the air and they approached me then....amazing..

Hello and welcome to YT. I laughed about the name. I thought that about Galen too lol. I love the opossum story. And that one of the babies was playing possum lol it is wonderful your grandson really showed compassion for them

This is how I finally gave in to the impulses of nature and happened upon little zoey....along with the "input" of my 3 daughters in law on my DH about how I need a dog, something to nurture and boy does she get that!
I said hubby as to come around too ( I have been mentioning it off and on for months but still had images of past doggy love) , hubby was ready and loves her to death too....what a joy they are and she is soooo good! I could brag all night:)

Oh yes very much so. She makes me laugh. I have a bell ringer I have been Training her to use to go potty outside....yes she knows what it is for and we do use it in that manner but she ALSO rings it to call ME to HER! To play !....

Especially when I am upstairs I have her trained not to come upstairs so she will ring the bell . If she has to go she is standing at the door dancing, if not she is peeking around the corner waiting for me to come down!......and I do:)

She also likes to play "see if you can catch me" when she slips out of outside pen where we go to pee. So now I carry her out cause she definetely knows what to do and where to go. Not quick enough to put her halter and leash on.little stinker.

Zoey is soooo adorable & your possum story is so funny (playing dead hahaha!) & awe-inspiring! What a great grand son you have there.

Hi,

I am brand new today. I love your little girl she is absolutely adorable. I also loved the story about the possums. I just saw a Pet Story on TV about SEAACA. Someone found 4 opossums which they rescued and brought to their rehabber.
Anyway my little one is named Biskit. He's a rescue. I have him for 4 years I gave :aimeeyorkhim the birthday July 23 since we don't know when he was born.

I brush her twice a day with detangling spray , can't wait for puppy coat fuzz to grow out! Although I love her baby face. Can't take enough pictures! Am trying to find time to make a short video clip where she can activate baby toy.....Soooo funny!Oh my .....I hear a bell ringing....
