New Member Hi Everyone, I am new to YT! My husband and I are planning on getting a little female Yorkie. I have been talking to breeders and have gotten good feedback. I think I found a breeder in AZ that I like. I found her on the Yorkie club website (sorry I can't remember the official name of the site). Any advice or info about breeders, price, etc. would be wonderful. Just so you Yorkie lovers know I was raised with two wonderful Yorkies who are still alive but live with my parents and they are 17 and 14. Any advice would be welcome. Thank you!! |
welcome to yorkietalk!! i would just be srue you can meet the parents, and they have no red flags....such as using the word teacup... If you found them through the YTCA they should be very ethcial which is important. Im sure others will chime in. Congrats on your pending bundle of love. |
Hi and welcome to Yorkietalk, I have a couple of Yorkies from breeders in AZ and I'm very happy with them. What breeder are you thinking about? There's not a lot of breeders in AZ and so prices are higher than in places like Texas, more comparable to California, we also have a large retirement community, that favors small dogs, so this drives us the price. |
:welcome4: :yorkietal :welcome4: Welcome to YorkieTalk and congratulations on your soon to be new addition. The suggestion I would have regarding breeders to to interview them just as they will undoubtedly interview you. Spend enough time with the breeder that you get a "feel" for what kind of person he/she is and trust your intuition. If you feel things aren't right, they probably aren't. Visit her home and look at the conditions in which the pups were raised. Ask to see the dam and if available, the sire. If the breeder you have decided upon doesn't work out, I do know a show breeder in AZ that has pups. If you are planning to show this may be a good match, if not she may have a pup she would be willing to sell as a pet. |
