More than I bargained for?!?!?!?!?! I joined the group last night and posted how I came to be the mom of not 1 but 3 yorkies. All bigger yorkies but still wonderful little babies. Well we went to the vet today and got the ok that they are fine and healthy with no problems. They got comfortis for the fleas, wormed, shots and we are a ok. Jackson and Tilly are set to be fixed Thursday. The only problem we have is that Mimi was in heat so they will not fix her. Which I figured because I have had to keep her seprate because Jackson is going nuts over her. This is a problem because while bringing them home Jackson was in the back with her and I could not get to them. I had no clue she was in heat. Not to mention I do believe that Jackson had gotten to her way before I even went to pick them up. This is going to tear me up if she is pregnant because I have a choice of either aborting them or letting her have them.... I am very torn by this and would like some advice please. |
Talk to the vet. The vet can do a spay after her heat cycle is over. It's equivalent to a combination spay and abortion (IF she is actually pregnant), but I think it's the best thing to do, especially if Mimi and Jackson are closely related (are they brother and sister?). |
Wow that would be a tough choice if it comes to that. I personally would be terrified to be in charge of a birthing without the help of someone with experience. I would talk to your vet asap about when you will know for sure & if you should consider an emergency spay. I'm sure others here will chime in with more knowledge. |

They are not related as far as I know. The lady I got them from said Jackson came from Alabama and Mimi from Ga. But considering the source I wouldn't trust anything she says. My blood is boiling for these little guys. I can't stand back yard breeders. I do know that Jackson is registered but Mimi is not. I told her to keep the papers I didn't need them because he wasn't going to be breeding anymore. |
I would suggest an emergency spay. The dogs have been through so much already being kept for breeding etc. Now that they are at a new and loving home, it's time for them to be loved as pets that they are :) |

I will def keep you guys up to date. I am so ready to strangle this woman. When I told her what was going on she had the nerve to ask for a female pppy if she has any :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: |
Oh yuck! That woman is disgusting! Lose her number and tell her to lose yours. Honestly I would do the spay and essentially abort the pregnancy. These poor babies sound like they need to be cherished pets from this point on. You are a good mom! I can hear the concern for your new babies in your posts. :) Good for you for doing the right thing! |
Thank you so much! They have become my babies in just the short time I have owned them, they are all different in their own way and are truly amazing animals. You can tell by their actions and how they act they are not use to being actually taken care of and loved the way they need to be. They are starved for love and attention. Tilly and Jackson are 2 and act like they don't even know how to play at all. Mimi is 1 and acts like she is not use to being loved on. It is sad and it hurts me for them I cherish them so much. |
