Through a dogs ears.... A friend of mine recommended this to calm my puppy when I'm gone from the house and she's alone for a while. Does anybody have any input on these CDs or is it anything I even need to think about? |

Before I got the CD I turned on the TV when I left. I think any kind of background music helps mine relax. |
We love these albums! They aren't a guaranteed solution to separation anxiety, but they are definitely relaxing. Our friend Carla, YT user YazminD, sent us all of them. I say go for it. She also has more tips if your pup suffers severe separation anxiety. |
What kind of music are they, I put on classical music all day when I'm out |
I am not familiar with those, but any background noise will help 'mask' sudden and startling noises by providing near constant noise. While I am not a huge fan of TV or radio, both provide music, variations in volume, other sounds and noises, like automobiles, and human voices...all of which pets might hear and be alarmed by when they occur in an otherwise 'library quiet' setting. I sometimes flick the TV on softly even when I'm home with the kids 'cuz...and most any channel will do...otherwise, they are prattling away at every chirping bird outside the window. They calm down when there is a more constant 'noise' going on around them. I'd give it a shot myself. :D |

Thanks everybody for the input. I'm gonna give it a try. It's kinda strange but I had the tv on one day when we were playing and some classical music started playing in the show. She stopped dead in her tracks and just looked at the tv. She never pays attention to the tv and that caught my attention. There may be something to this. :):) |
Wow, how interesting! I may have to try these. |
Pebbles really likes listening to mellow music so I'm going to have to buy some of these albums. Thanks for posting about this. |

I have volume 1 of "through a dogs ear" and I leave it on whenever we go out, I also use this: Dog Cat Radio - Listen Online Itīs a radio station for dogs and cats :) I even use the "through a dogs ear" CD in the car or a little while before bedtime with my youngest daughter.Itīs very relaxing and it helps wind her down lol. |
Very cool. Thanks for sharing. I am going to check them out. I use celtic music in the car to sooth Galen. He loves it. |
music/radio Because Bailey has such good hearing, even things I don't hear, I always put the radio on, as I figure he won't hear as much and therefore won't be on 'full security alert' while I'm gone:) |
