Buddy Belts at Pet Valu?
 
I went into Pet Valu and saw Buddy Belts (red and black) but they looked different than normal Buddy Belts.

I can't remember now what it said, I want to say 'Buddy Belt 2' or something different, and they did not have 'BB' tags on them, they were branded on the actual leather.

Just wondering what that was about. Looked to have Buddy the Dachshund on the tags.

It was probably a copycat of the Original Buddy Belt..

Buddy Belt is coming out with the BB2, which is not made of leather. It will be available in limited colors. It does not have the stitching or details like the leather editions.

May have been the BB2. Buddy Belt will not be releasing it to all retailers for a couple more months.

Yes it was BB2! I knew it was something like that. Did not feel like the normal ones, so I was wondering... Thx!

Our Pet Valu had them for sale at $42, I believe.

We just got our BB natural harness in the mail btw!! ;) Gonna work on darkening it, love it tho, so soft and fits him good!

Yes, the prices are lower because they are not made of leather and do not have the detailing.

Why would you not want leather? It lasts so much longer.:p $45 is not that much cheaper?:confused:

Some people were requesting a non-leather product. I agree that nothing will match the durability of the leather version.

I thought they were going to be priced lower, but maybe that has changed. Could be PetValu's pricing is higher.

I have not seen the BB2 in person, but from photographs, my personal preference is the classic Buddy Belt.

I can't say for sure, but Brit might be quoting the price for one in. Jackson's size. I wouldn't buy it if it wasn't leather.

I agree if it's $40+ for vinyl, I wouldn't buy it. For vinyl it would have to be like $20 for me.

I agree. If it is vinyl I would expect it to be cheaper then $42. You can get a leather one for that price.

Wait...is the BB2 in fake leather? Or is it a whole other material? It seems weird that the BB would release a similar product, the only difference being the quality of the materials. Maybe there's some other advantage of the BB2?

I found a press release online. It actually does seem that the only difference will be the synthetic leather..."Designed to appeal to a wider market". Bummer. I was hoping it was a a whole new BB product.

As Lisa indicated, that price might be for a larger size. The press release Teresa posted indicates it will be 40% less in price than the original leather, still slightly higher than what I thought.

I went to Pet Valu today in Abingdon and was very disappointed to see that they are not going to carry the BB2. I was anxious to check it out. I guess they will be sold only in certain stores?

Personally, the only Buddy Belts I will buy are from Kristin. She has exceptional customer service, and I prefer to support her business. We have walked in rain and snow, and Katie's Buddy Belts are still beautiful and in fine shape, so I am not interested in synthetic leather.

I could see how non-leather buddy belts could be good for people who feel strongly about animals being eaten/used or for people who can't afford the leather BB. I'm sure it will have its market :) I prefer the leather, but I understand why they might want to include other consumers.

I totally agree. Kristin gives great customer service. I recommend her every time I can for buddy belts. She did say it would be available to all retailers, which means she could sell them. This gives people other options and more business hopefully for her.
