I can't grade papers tonight because Barney needs me to scratch his neck so he can relax.

I guess it would depend on what grade you teach, and I think it's more likely, you need to pay attention to him, to get over your day. My mom and grandmother were teachers, I wouldn't fire you.

Awww, thanks Quadraphenic and Buster Brown. Yes, I think I will tell my 5th graders that the dogs ate their homework. Sadly, I now have to face the music and grade their work.

Sadly, Barney went to bed with uneven neck scratching syndrome, now referred to as unss. Because of this terrible neglect, he will probably misbehave all day. Oh the sacrifices that we public school teachers have to make :). ...Seriously I'm just kidding. I love, love, love my job!

Lol- just gotta learn to multitask...scratch with non dominant hand, grade with dominant hand. I hate that Barney went to bed with unss. Bless him. If he doesn't misbehave all day, he will probably sulk. :(

It's the judgement of YT that because of your neglect and making your furbutt suffer from UNSS, you will be sentenced to provide double amount of kisses, cuddles, and couple extra special treat for Barney's pain and suffering.

Ok. Sentence is being served. Had to work late tonight. I had ballgame duty. DH has been entertaining but he looks worn out right now. I have just been covered in yorkie kisses and I am pretty sure that Barney just brushed my teeth for me.

I don't know, I think you have to scratch with the dominant hand and grade with the non-dominant. Scratching Barney is clearly the more important task :animal36

Bless you for teaching. I am a retired public school teacher and I know the load I used to carry home. No time for anything but schoolwork. Just get up 2 hours early and get it done while the dog is sleeping. He sleeps and you work! Today the demands of teachers are unreal and I really admire you for doing this job well. Dedication brings blessings.

Thank you so much. But I really do love my job. I call myself a teacher nerd.

Getting up earlier is a good idea, but I already get up at 5:30 in the morning. If I get up two hours earlier, I might as well skip sleeping. No worries though. Barney is a morning dog. We have our routine all worked out. Hubby makes breakfast. I take dogs out for potty time. I sing loudly, "Do you wanna potttty?" My neighbors just love me. We come inside, watch a little Earl and cuddle on the couch.

I remember my bio teacher in high school used to bring his dog to school from time to time. Wouldn't you just love it if you could bring Barney to work sometimes?! Hmm.. How about a show & tell session? You can use that excuse to bring Barney for your show and tell. LOL

Great idea! Or I could bring him every day as the class pet. I am sure the principal would go for that. He has a yorkie too. So he must be a nice guy. Right?

I got even a better idea. Why only a "class pet" when Barney can be the school mascot!!!! If you're gonna go, go big! I think Barney's the only one that can do the job right.

As for your principal... Wouldn't it be funny if he was actually a member here too and didn't know it? :eek:

I'm pretty sure he's not a member. He's a great guy. But he thinks I go overboard with my dogs. However, if he was on here, he would probably tell me to play with Barney and grade the work later. Barney would be a great mascot for the "Greyhounds". He has the tall skinny build.
